What headers are you using? Are you sure it's 1 1/4 inch or 1/4 inch gap. 1 1/4 doesn't sound right, can you post a picture? I have my stingers behind the firewall and had to dremel just a little off the former where the stingers go and everything fit good. The instructions give you two options for setting up the canisters, they should both work fine except you have to cut a little off the headers with one of the options.

I'm using the header's that came with the engine/canister/plane combo. I did'nt measure but I'm sure it's at least a 1'' gap between the canister and the header on the foward cylinder.

Marc,
Here is a link to a couple pictures of my setup, I'll double check when I get home later today to see if I have a gap on mine. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6116718/tm.htm

I am just getting into the larger planes. I want to use a swb double arm on my rudder. Should I be useing a stright arm or an offset arm if the pull pull cables are crossed going to the rudder, and why or what is the difference between the two?

I'm using the SWB offset arm for my rudder with cables crossed and it's working great. Check out the link in post #78, you can see a picture of it.

Hi There,

You need an offset arm and cables are to be crossed. I'm sure when you call SWB and let them know you want the arm for QQ-102" they will give you the right arm.

Thank you,
Reza

What are you guy's doing for choke on the DA 100? Some pic's of a manual choke lever would be great!!

Thank's Marc 540

If you check out this thread and post 7. It is very light choke setup you can bring out at any point of the airplane.

I hung a 4-40 rod out through a hole in the bottom of my cowl on my DA100 on a different ariframe...
Used a GP metal clevis to connect it to the choke lever and just pulled or pushed to work it ....
Very easy and light! never a glitch....

Rezagh. With the generationIII. Is it still necessary to take off the covering behind the landing gear since the cannister support brackets are already installed, or is this for more cooling?

Anyone using a 3W 106?
What is the spacing required from the firewall with the 106"

I think the DA 100 is 2"
I have a 106 I want to use instead of the DA for now.

Thanks
Bob

Hi Bob,

Please download the manual for the 102" GenII from the website. I think some of your questions are already answered there. Rudder supplied arm get bolted to a double aluminum arm such as JR arms or anyother that you may fly. I think spacing for the 3W is 3/4".

Reza

Hi There,

It is for cooling so you need to remove it as well.

Thank you,
Reza

HI everybody , I have a 102 gen111 and plan on using a 3w106 with cans, the manual supplied (gen11) says that the cans to be used for the 3w are of M type of 50mm . but the ID of the canister mounts just when the silicone cushions start to bite is 55mm. so surely the 50mm cans are going to be a lose fit . also im unable to find a 3w header of 50mm drop . so can anyone recomend the way to go , or has anyone fitted the3w106 with cans and if so what have they used. thanks to all in advance.

Hey contact Aircraft International, Gerhard should be able to tell you exactly what you need and should have it in stock. Good luck, you'll love the plane.

Now that the plane has been around awhile, and mine isn't anywhere near done yet, what are the 3D reports like?
Slow rollers, slow inverted waterfalls etc?

Think my QS106 will wind up on the nose.
Any balance reports with this engine?
What kind of standoffs did you guys use with the 106's?

Thanks
Bob
