Pro3D -> Weston Fuel (2/28/2003 1:49:31 AM)

I have just found out that one of the fuels available in my area is something called Weston Prosynth. Does anybody know anything about this fuel? :confused:

There was quite a long discussion about Weston fuels at http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/tm.asp?m=135565

Have a read and make up your own mind about it....

I've been using the Prosynth (10% Nitro)and the Prosynth Comp (5% Nitro) in my helicopters an have had no problems what so ever. The fuel burns with very little smoke trail so to set the mixture up it's more a case of how the engine sounds and it's temperature.
I've also used Coolpower 5% this runs fine but smokes a great deal and have recently used a case of Wildcat 15% (available through Leamington Hobby Centre in the UK) wich is another quality fuel which doesn't smoke as much as the Coolpower.

I would say just give it a try and write back with your findings, remember that your needles settingswill need to be changed when you switch between different fuels.
