Howdy all,

I've recently purchased a Firebird XL and love flying it. I'd like to get a good charger that I can use for both home and car charging while I'm out flying. I'm using the default 7.2V 900mA NiMH cells that come with the plane.

However, the local hobby shop is telling me I need a $75 charger, which frankly seems a bit high to me.

I've looked at several web sites, but am a little hesitant to buy off the web when I can't really tell if the charger will do what I want.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good brand and/or model?

Thanks in advance!

Craig

You can get the AeroBird charer r ~$19; it is a peak charger with adjustable charge rate. For home use you can get a A/C adapter from RadioShack with a car plug output (you don't need more than 1A for the Firebird battery). Wattage also has a A/C D/Charger for ~$50.

I second the Wattage PF-12. It will handle just about any Nicd or Nihd battery you'll ever get!

Hi guys,

Thank you both for the suggestions!

I did a little surfing and looked at the PF-12 charger, which sparked another question.

While looking at the charger from various web sites, it doesn't appear to come with a connector that would accept a plane battery. Perhaps this is just because they aren't showing all the parts that come with the charger, but I'm not sure.

How can I tell if it comes with an appropriate connector?

Craig
