.
I have, but the newer APS format cameras are smaller, lighter, and easier to mount.

.
The even newer digital cameras are even smaller, lighter, easier to use, and less expensive.. It costs nothing to delete a bad image.

I mounted a 35mm camera on the bottom of my Avistar 40. It was the cheapest auto-advance 35mm camera Walmart had . I think it was about 12 bucks. It took great pictures, and had almost no affect on the performace of the trainer.

If you'd like to see some of my shots, here's the address to my page:

These are around Monroe, Louisiana.

I've used a small Canon Ixus APS camera with a regular servo tie-wrapped to it for the shutter and bungied it to the side of the fus on my Mulitplex Twinstar. I used coins on the opposite wing tips to balance weight laterally.
It made for exciting flying as the flight characteristics of the plane were dramatically effected.
I've just bought a Mustek 2.1 camera which should be light enough to put on most of my electric models :-)
I just need to find out where to get those switches from which you can connect to the camera to avoid having to use a servo...
Anyone got any ideas??

its great fun & quite interesting to see your 'local' landscape from the aerial perspective!

One problem I encountered on the first few flights is messy pictures caused by engine vibration - OK when 'deadstick!'

The camera & trigger work.... now I just need a new mount / or plane!

Thermite did you find your switch. I found the "SMT backpack" posted with link on this forum. And it is a solid setup with quick connectors. I installed it myself for a challenging project. Or they can do cam mods for you at a fair price.

Also I just saw a wiring diagram for Mustek to "dual switch" at www.rc-flysoft.com, I have not tried the dual switch setup.
