Some one had mentioned in the RC Groups Forum that Corona 120's are now out of production and parts are harder to find, Is This True ???

I checked Heli Hobby's stock of Corona parts and most of their corona items are listed as OUT OF STOCK...!

If you know anything post it here, Thanks...

Check out their web site. They are still making parts, but from what I heard at the LHS they are making more on the other venture and only do the LMH parts once and a while. I may give them a call and see what they say.

I called LMH directly. They are still making and supporting the HELI.

If someone is unable to get parts you can call them directly.

Hello,

Looking for new corona kits, I've asked HeliHobby and they answered me that LMH had ceased the corona production in favor of military products.

It's quite sad and I'll have to found out another big sized and robust FP heli...

BTW, I don't understand why the other manufacturers aren't producing corona clones...?

I feel the same way nio101, but it seems that all these manufactures are interested in making these mini micro Jap junk helicopters. I've stocked lots of parts for my corona 120 so that my heli wil still have many years of service. in fact I just purchased a bunch of spare main rotor blades & lots of other spare parts from shopatron. They finally got them in stock again. However, if for any reason I can't use my corona anymore in the future, I will then buy a larger nitro heli, I really like the FP set-up, but Im not going to get a heli smaller than the corona 120. They are to sensitive to the wind, you need the size and weight of the corona to handle the wind. I've tried those micro helis before. Flying an R/C heli the size of a shoe in my living room is boring......!

Im sad to read this. I have a 117 that I built as a 4H project a few years back. I haven't flown it much seince I got my CPP but I would still like to get parts for it. What do you recomend to stock up on? I remember breaking the tail case and heard of a few people with stress cracks in their rotors. The only reason I dont fly it much is because of that pesky Norvel.

nitrohog, I don't have any of the Corona gas models, only the Electric Corona 120, but if you want to stock up on parts I would stock up on Main Rotors, Tail booms, tailrotor gearbox cases and maybe a couple of mainrotor shafts. Lots of the hard plastic parts in the rotor head and drive system usually never crack due to the composite material their made of.

I second going thru Shopatron for 120 parts. Stock up on as many as you can. I have enough parts to completely build three 120's and have tons of spares for all three. The 120 is a tank and I agree the micro's don't cut it in the wind. Long live the 120!!

Still flying an LMH 100 I bought in 96. This was the norvel version I converted to electric. Motor is a Himax 3516. Gooped the arleton gyro together and now using Ikarus gyro. Batteries are 4cell, 16 volt li-ion batts from the Makita drills. Main blades are the original short ones. This thing, I call mine Rotorooter, has to be the Ugly stick of helis. Four more 10 min flights today. As said above, to bad somebody wouldn't copy it. This has to be the ultimate trainer heli. Doesn't fly all that well but it's unkillable. Have fun.

Gord.
