Is anyone using brushless in these? If so I am curious what are they using.

Yea, on the electric side. Extreme Class, at least in IMDRA sanction. BL and LiPo appear welded together at the hip, e.g., if you're running BL, you've got LiPo battery power. At present, the only class in IMDRA a competitor may use a LiPo battery is in Extreme Class. Performance is exceptional, record breaking actually. E.T.s in the 1.4sec range, bordering on breaking into the 1.3's. Official runs of 100+mph are being clocked. Mamba-series w/controller and 3cell LiPo seems the popular choice right now.

We're not competing in the class, only watching the runs, so can't provide specifics.

Caveat is a SAMDRL extreme competitor running his GMS rail BL with round cells. Only for sorting out the chassis and familiarization though. He's since gone to LiPo and is a serious threat in Extreme Class. See Griz video from Lampasas, Texas.

I have a GMS14:

Would figure the Mamba would burn up IMO. I know the cars only run for couple of seconds. I have seen a website that has a top fuel drag car with a Mamba in it. Looked pretty cool -

I have all kinds of 540 size and 540 L series motors. Also a few 18th scale sized for the mamba. I am to nervous to try the Mamba controller in mine.

I have been looking at other drag kits. Does anyone know if the older Bolink pan car bodies will fit on the GMS 11 or DragSpec Kit?

I have a number of clear unpainted Bolink car bodies. I already have the GMS 14 kit. Also got a pan car off EBay (not here yet) that I want to put drag wheels and such on it to use.

Hey, I found this forum after I was checking the web stats for my company, Grand Motorsports... I followed the link back to here.

Here's a pic of my latest personal drag car, a 27-cc quarter-scale gas powered funny car.

GMS has both nitro and electric drag cars, both are fun, but the new brushless/Lipo electric dragsters are just unreal, going over 100 mph in just 132 feet.

Thats a cool car looks like kenny bernsteins(spelling?) car.! nice job
