i actually finish a falcon 120.....this one will be fited with a kingtech K80............it should fly well !!
unfortunately, my falcon came without manual......so it would be great if someone could give me the center of gravity and the throws allowed to all surfaces...

Status: offline 		On the Boomerangs, Alan gives the CG from the trailing edge, so it is important to be certain. 13" sounds like a long way from the leading edge and you would end up with an aft CG, if you measured it the wrong way.

Status: offline 		Hi Vince, CG should be 13inchs back from the leading edge, this is perfect.
- control throws, you can do a search on this thread, there is quite a bit of info, but in general, manual gives

- aileron 20 mm each way

- elevator 15 mm each way ( remember the elevator is rigged so its upper surface is in line with the stab upper surface. Do not align the bottom of the stab and the bottom of the elevator. It will look like the elevator is slightly rigged up in this position, this is completely normal)

- Rudder 15mm each way, I use more, around 20mm

- Flaps 20mm down, but I use as much as I can get, to slow her down and come in with a little power on. Most people do this. Use around 10 to 20mm for take off, if you like, doesnt make any real difference for the take off, then everything youve got for landing. If you have a really strong crosswind, (normal for me), then i do not use all the flap, only the 10 to 20 mm to reduce the swing from the wind.

That will get you safely airbourne, then tinker till you fing your sweet spot. I did notice the later Falcon, required a bit more down elevator when pushing through an inverted loop than the older model, dont know why, easy to increase if you need to, but it will fly inverted no probs with the recomended settings. Ive just started putting the radio / services tray together but if i put the UAT in front of the main tank it is difficult to access the front wing retainer bolts with the tray in place, i notice many of the pics on here are simular. Was just wondering what people have done to workaround it?

HI i screwed some m6 bolts in to the tee nuts in the wings with the head cut off and a 60 deg tappered cross hole drill in it ( use center drill ) and fix some blocks in the fuz which these go into and the got a six m/m grub screw with a 60 deg point on it which screws into the block and into the tappered hole pulling the wings up no need to go into the fuz down the field just two small holes in the bottom to put the allen key in works great

Status: offline 		Awesome job new, guess i dont need the foremost retainer then looking at your setup. On mine theres a captive nut just forward of where your wires come out of the fuse.

Are you using the std wing tubes or did you upgrade them?

Status: offline 		standard wing tube with dowel epoxyed in it, turned it down to fit inside because its a funny size to get hold of had over100 flights now with supersport at 18+lbs.
mine must be early version had no bolts at the front only at the hatch do you need them at the front ?

Status: offline 		It depends on which version of the Falcon 120 you have. The early ones had only one bolt per wing. From his picture this is obviously what new2jets has. It sounds like you have the later version with two bolts per wing. Because the wings on version 2 are not as strong as on version 1 I recommend that you use both sets of wing bolts.

On mine I made the equipment tray end just forward of the front wing bolts. The UAT is mounted in the equipment tray forward of the bolts.

Status: offline 		There are two solutions to this problem IMO:

1. Don't use a UAT, use an Orbit fabric clunk, I use one in my Elan without a UAT and it works fine.

2. Put the T nut in the fus and the bolt in the wing, hole in the wing to use a ball allen key to do up the bolt, look back in the thread I detained it earlier.

Status: offline 		My Turbine is heavy, so needed the UAT fwd for balance, mine is just behind nose leg. If you have later model you need both wing bolts, front and rear. I use ally cap head screws and made a screw driver with 90 degree bevel gears, so front bolts can be tightened easily, with no fiddling. Rear bolts , I use a ball end allen driver through access hole in bottom of fuse. Rolson, who make all the cheap but usefull tools in the UK, make a 90 degree attachment (in fact its about 80 degrees) which will do the same job, for around 5 pounds.

Status: offline 		Yes fitted a carbon main tube, use the ally front one. I bought it from Als hobbies, they have a rack of different size tubes, you have to ask some one to go and get a few out and measure up one that is the right size. If you get the right person, they will do that for you, if not they wont bother. The carbon is a fair bit lighter than the ally. If you get a new tube or even if you are using the supplied tube, Make Sure It Fits all the way to the end of both end ribs in the wings, when it is built up. Fit the tube in one wing and fit the wing to the fuse. Draw a pencil line on the exposed tube on side of fuse without the wing. Now pull out the tube and fit it to the other wing. The pencil line should just go into the wing by a couple mm, if it disappears inside, the tube is too short and the wing will not be supported corrected. The newer wings have the ribs positioned @ 1/2 inch further out than the older wing, but they were supplying the wing tube, cut for the older models in te newer models.

I thread locked in 6mm threaded rod into the wing roots and where they come into the fuz, I use 6mm washers and wing nuts. This makes it easier to bolt on the wings without the use of any tools - just make sure you leave enough room in front of the fuel tank to get your hands in. The rear nuts are accessed through the rear fuz hatch.

Status: offline 		hi Guys, found this collpasable stowage box with wheels. Wheels arent massive, but seem to cope with the rough terain in my back garden admirably. Our flying site moved slightly, so have to walk everything over to the strip in about 4 treks, this should do the job. It folds done to virtually nothing and can handle 25 kgs, (on the box) but i have sat on it no probs. I will make a plate seat to fit on the top of it eventually. Cost was unbelivable, at £9.99. Avail in corner shops and also Homebase, (made by Rolson i think). I can fit, 20liter fueller, large fire extinguisher, aircompressor, Propane starter gas, and tailplane protector in it perfectly, plus you can fit another box on top if required. cheers Tim

Status: offline 		Got my Falcon with the Thanksgiving sale, and finally getting started.
Popped the formers this afternoon. and started stripping the wing to create my own scheme.
Tried in the wing with tube (mine is short...) and then noticed the fit....
The left wing pulls in tight, but this is the best I can get on the right.
Did anyone else have this problem, and if so, how did you fix it...?
The gap is almost 7/16".

Status: offline 		That looks really bad. You could sand the front of the wing root so it sits more flush and add some to the aft root. I'd probably look at if the wingtube is in the fuse correctly.

I'd see if wingtip to booms is the same distance on each side as well and check your incidence.
