Hi there Glen

I'm afraid your well ahead of me now with your project. The gear looks fantastic, a real master piece.

I've devised a method of top steering the nose leg which is purpose designed for the single seater ..1/5th scale ...and am having the parts investment cast. In my case most of the leg is exposed making it more difficult to arrange reliable steering. I do believe I've got it sorted however. I should have 6 sets in about 2 weeks.

The mains are less of a problem and the chassis design is being machined for me now. They're pretty beefy and so the mechanics would be OK for a larger model. The design also allows the retract angle to be adjusted by fitting a different locking cam. The system is based on Goldberg/Robart locking design. I'll get some pics up for you as soon as I have something nice to look at!

I've been too busy to do much but am back at it now. I've just sorted the inboard flaps and am about to launch into the wings. I had thought od all composite but I'm not prepared to invest the time for what may be a smallish return.

Well done ...do have a completion date? Silly question I know.

Brian

Hi Henk.

Did you have any luck with Siera for the Vamp gear? Our gear is now complete ( 12 Sets)but I dont know if it will fit in the Sterner vamp.

Hi Gerald.
Thanks, its taking a long time, I should be able to start making the planes in about two weeks time. We are busy getting the vacuum system all sorted out.

I unfortunatley will not be going to Poland, as far as I know only Johan is going this year.

Give our regards to all friends in Holland.

Cheers.

Glen.

Hi Glenn

As I continue at snail pace .....!

I thought you might like to see the first production units of my mains system. These will do both 1/5th and 1/4 scale Vampire and with a few mods can be made as a universal retract for "simple situations". While they are the first, they don't have the investement cast pivot blocks but just the original sand cast test units.

The first production nose leg assembly is nearing completion too. It of course is a dedicated 1/5th scale leg but I could be tempted to do a 1/4 scale if there was sufficient interest. I have a very friendly foundry owner ...he just take a while to get to my small jobs!

How are you getting on?

Cheers .. Brian

Hi Brian.

Good to hear that you are still busy on the single seater. We are busy producing the first models at the moment, going beter than I thought it would. I will let the phot's tell the story.

Nice looking U/C. We have produced 12 sets of gear for the two seater to start with. Ours are machined out of bar stock, rather costly.

Cheers.

Glen.
