I am running the Hellfire RTR truggy and have most of the bugs worked out, however it is developing a rather high pitched whine when I accelerate. There is no lack of power or speed and cornering in also unaffected. As this is my first Nitro RC experience I am stumped. I lubed the universal / cv joints between diffs and wheels with no success. Anybody who has had a similar experience and is willing to share any info would be greatly appreciated.

If the high pitch sound comes from the engine, try to richen up the low speed needle as it may be too lean.

Thanks for the reply, tried richening up the mixture to no avail. Reset all my adjustments on the carb to factory and started from scratch with no change in the whining sound. Doh. Next I will try pulling diffs apart and see if maybe one of them is dry or something, as I noticed the rear diff is losing oil/grease out the bottom. Apparently a common problem with this beast.

Hmm.. Weird. Can you by any chance get a video of it?

Yes, a vid will help us with the problem. We could listen for the sound and determine if the engine is turning normally or if there is a problem (i.e. the normal accelerating high pitch whine versus the abnormal whines from various other causes).

I figured it out, turns out the set screw on one of the pins in the front cv/u joint was loose, pin had slid out and was grinding away. Tightened up screw(on all 4 corners) and whine is gone. Thanks for the input.
