So, I was considering buying an MRC Super Brain 960 , but discovered that there is a... cell capacity limit of 3700 mAh? This got me a bit confused as I never see companies publicize a cell capacity limit for chargers - typically, they only make clear the number and type of cells a charger can handle. So, am I to conclude that I can't use an MRC Super Brain 960 with a 7-cell Tenergy 3800 mAh hump pack? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There really isn't cell capacity limit. When the chart was developed, that was the maximum cell that was available at the time. So I'm not really sure why they actually included that in the chart. But rest assured, you can charge your 3800 mah battery, and any above that.

I just received the Super Brain 960 in the mail today, along with two six-cell SMC IB4200 stick packs. Both packs arrived with no charge in them, since I couldn't even spin the wheels of my truck with them off the ground. So, I set the charger to .5 amps for break-in and the recommended 30 mv. The first pack charged for about 1 hour and 12 minutes before the charger indicated that it was fully charged. I then ran the battery in my stock Evader ST for about a minute - then it died. I tried charging the second battery using the same method several times, but the charger indicated a full charge in about 2 minutes. What's going on, anyway?

I believe since they are new batteries they need to be cycled a few times before they reach their full charging capacity. I would charge them and then run them again until they start to die down then charge and so on and your run time should start to get longer.

Also, after the first charge you can safely charge the batteries at 4.5 amps.
