Hello all, my question is what type of clear do you all put on when finished with a custom paint job. Do any of you actually use automobile quality like PPG Clear? I just find it hard to believe that folks would spend that kind of money for clear. There has to be an alternative that is effective and cost savings. This is more of a general question, boat, planes, ect. What clear do you use. Thanks for any input.

I've never found one that doesn't yellow when applied over white paint

Have a friend that builds and competes in Scale Master and that is what he uses. I found Dupli-color engine enamel clear worked for me a t about $4.00 a 12 ounce spray can. Might want to check it on a sample to see if it is compatalbe with your paint first. It is fuel, oil, and heat resistant.
