Ok, will be there. I was at Westonzoyland today, could not believe how good the weather was! had a few flights with the new Parkzone Mosquito as well. Steve Moore test flew his Eurosport . . . . canopy came off and hit the fin but he got it down ok.

Oops know that feeling canopy came off the F16 as well hence why the cockpit is missing in the shots, did'nt click in properly my fault, full marks to Geoff for landing it with all tanks full and for beheading the pilot , great day though and a million thanks to Geoff for all the help on the F16, should be there about same time again today.

In memory on my pilot who sadly got beheaded when he decided to bang out complete with cockpit

Very first take off, just like a real one it went tech halfway down the strip, glad it was'nt a few seconds later

Looks like there's not enough snow in England...want some?
Really hoping for 2 things now:
-this ice age would end this year
-all my stuff that has been in Germany for service for months now would be returned before the snow melts

I am so used to the snow now that I dont see it anymore...

Nah, wouldn't want to rob you TP...we'll put up with the English weather as long as it's all like today...blue skies, bit of breeze and the odd cloud for respite for when it gets too warm (and we can't say that too often!).

Had another outing today. Big G - Ultra iLightning, Lozza Hughes - Phoenix, Jamie Cuff brought paint stirrers but redeemed himself by flying his Ducty with a JetCat P-20 and guesting a friend form Surrey with a Boomerang, Steve Elias - Ultra Bandit and I took my Foxjet. Got to thank Lozza, a confirmed Nikon lover, for using my Canon to get the pics of my Foxjet (don't worry mate, I won't mention it to anyone!). Anyway, the pics...

Brill day at Wtn today...clear blue skies, hot sun and ten jets belonging to Steve Elias (UB and Bandit) Steve Prideaux (Bandit and foamy Hunter), Big G (Ultra iLightning and Hunter), Ian Bailey (Elan). Mark Woodland (Bandit and Kingcat) and Me (Foxjet).

Best bit of all, though, was helping Ian Bailey celebrate his birthday by eating the birthday cake his wife baked for us! Nice one Ian, thanks to Marie!

Few pics...

Another brill day at Wroughton today...welcomed new club member Phil Greeno - those of you who are old enough to remember the 70s model scene will recall that Phil was a major force in Pylon Racing at that time. Andy Bascome, David Butt Laurie Hughes (Lozza) and Big G also brought their jets and enjoyed a relaxing time, plus a bit of sun! Loz took a load of in-flt pics, which should appear later on but, in the meantime, here are a few ground-borne shots!...

Phil's Hawk, my Foxjet, David Butt relaxing by his Elan and Andy's Flash, Phil's Thunderbirds Flash and Phil calling for Big G!

Yet another grand day out, took the camera as its just come back from Nikons repair centre and wanted to try it out, still not convinced its working right, anyway good to get plenty more stick time, tooks loads of pics so heres a quick edit of some of todays action.

Was gutted to hear of todays loss of 'Big Beautiful Doll' P51 Mustang at Flying Legends following a midair collision with a Skyraider, thankfully no one killed.

Big thanks to Dick, Geoff, Laurie, Andy, David, and all Swindon members for such a friendly welcome to their club.

Had a very relaxed and enjoyable days flying. Flew my Carf Hawk and Flash and hope to test fly my new Graupner Inspiration with Merlin 100 in a few weeks time.

Highlight of the day was calling for Geoff when he was flying his superb Hunter WOW !!!!

Thanks again guys.

Phil.

Yet another chilled day at Wtn...overcast skies, warm and almost no wind made for a relaxing day. Couple of new models to show...the Animal brought along his CARF Hawk, finished in 4 FTS colours and fitted with a Simjet 3000. He ran the engine up and checked out the systems in anticipation of flying it next weekend. John Herman turned up with his Avonds f-15 (the all-composite one), to which he's added a fair bit of weathering, and flew it in a very spirited manner...the 120SX never came off full throttle for the first 5 minutes! Final picture is of David Butt and his Elan, which sports great nav lights - really bright.

Others there were John Paisley (Phoenix), Big G (Hunter) and me with my Foxjet, which went through to flight number 51 today! I flew it without the tip tanks for a change and was very surprised at how much quicker the model was...the tanks obviously lend a fair bit of drag. I think it looks better without the tanks on (Big G disagrees!), so 'clean' it'll be for a while!

Cheers,

Dick
England

I am sure Dick will be along later who can give you a more detialed answer but for the moment you will have to make do with me. Up till 2-3 years ago Dick owned the moulds and the rights to the Foxjet and it was available as a fuselage and set of wings/tails. Dick then sold the plug to a gentleman from the UK, from what we call 'up north' and I don't think we have heard anything since.

Dick then sold the plug to a gentleman from the UK, from what we call 'up north' and I don't think we have heard anything since.

Geoff.

Geoff summarised it well...all I'll expand on is that it was made from a very basic kit of bits comprising the main fuselage and three formers, a nosecone, engine cover and foam wings/tail and fin. The rest was made up as it went...and I got a clear canopy sucked over a plug so I could make up a cockpit and add a bit of interest there. I added a lot of surface detail - burned in rivets on the fuse, added rivets to the wings/tail (Mick Reeves rivet system), panel lines, saw tooth leading edge, wing vortex generators, fuselage louvres, etc, etc. The paint finish is a pseudo Aggressor scheme using self mixed basecoat paints, and the numbering/Russian stars and US Stars n Bars were painted on through stencils cut by Lawrie Hughes (he of stunning photo fame) and the rest of the stencilling, etc are Tailormade decals from sheets that Geoff and I had left over from previous builds! I weathered it using a mixture of paint, chalk, Rub n Buff and chipping off paint here and there. Bit of a mish-mash really, but it flies well and doesn't look too bad!

Happy to let you have the new kit owner's email addy if you PM me.

Rgds,

Dick
England
