Nats are in St. Louis starting later this week, I'm not home now but will back in a few days, not enough time to break in a Monsson and run it but will start getting it together and let you know how it runs at the track compared to the $700.00 to $1500.00 ones. check out our track, although they changed the layout since I've been gone for the Nats. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEgTXY7trLw&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Edirtburners%2Eorg%2FTrackInfo%2FTrackVideos%2Ftabid%2F118%2FDefault%2Easpx

Dude I have have two titanium rods seven inches long and six stainless screws in my back and one of the rods has broke and I am looking at the fourth sugery now, And I was injured in the Army, I have to get around with a electric scooter, So be lucky you only have had some needle's in your back. I have served my country and was injuerd in the line of duty so you don't have the right to call me a fool. Just saying what is on my mind that's what this site is all about right.

Is this the place to post grunt and groan? I would have to spend 2 days writing 12 hours a day in word program and then the post wouldn't fit because it would be to large. Thats just about the first 20 years of my life and the next 40 don't get better unless your talking about having fun with RC things. The best hours in a day spent is playing with your toys or enjoying life so DOO DAT please

Thank you for your service. I appreciate the freedom that you have provided for me and my family. Im sorry about your injuries, I can only hope that our country is taking care of this.

That being said, im very interested in seeing how the monsoon will perform on the track with mugens and vehicles of that nature. Keep us posted.

Same here Bro. I would like to thank you and all the men and women in service or who have served. A guy that goes to my church lost both legs, 3 months ago and he is in Texas rehabilitating right now. I was just in a golf scramble this weekend to raise money for him. Again thanks to all who have served or who are still serving for this great country right now.

Later Fong

Thank you for your toughts. And I ask that you support all of are troups where ever they are. They need it more then you think. So any help is great if it's a kind word or some stuff giving to the USO. There is a group of guys who run rc in the green zone, they always need stuff. You can get the link to them from Highbanks rc .com and just go to events and you will see the guys with their rides and the camp delta raceway it's cool a little bit of home goes a long way when you are so far a way thanks for your support.

Went to the Illinois pro series event in Peoria last weekend with the Monsoon, it was running great until I broke it, I let my friend use the SH .28 engine, the only mod made to it was putting on a different back plate so it could use a bump start box and it won the C Main, B Main and came in 4th in the A main because he crashed and broke on the last lap. REDCAT is suppose to get parts in this week for the new models in the meantime I have repaired what I broke (sort of) with other parts and will be back on the track shortly. For racing you will need to change the steering servo to a much stronger one, I found a ciruss 185 oz servo for 29.99 that works great, I had to shim it up since it is tall but one of my customers turned me on to it and it works great.
will keep you posted

Yes I race the SH 28 P-3 engines in both of my buggies and they are smoking fast. I mean really fast and good all around motor. And servos I run only Hitec 645 MG for the stering and the 475 HB for the throttle they run about 40 bucks for each one and they are worth it, sometimes you can get them for 29.99 on sale or on e-bay. I love my SH28 s they are good motors and I hope you get the moonsoon going soon so we can see what it can do. So please keep us posted. Thank you.

I think your refering to the Chinese measurement of speed and it may say 80 but you need to take off about 42% to get MPH

So far I love my Monsoon! It is the best bang for the buck out there! I just bought a ton of Inferno ST parts for it,,,,,, so I'll be good to go for a long time! I love the Kyosho engine mount too! Just reverse the sink mount and you can throw other endbells on with no trouble. For more open tracks try using a 12 tooth, she really gets it! There are also a wide range of spur gears between 46 and 52 tooth available! There should be no problems tuning this truck for any track.........period!

I thought the monsoon looked like the kyosho inferno too. I think it looks more like that than the vtx or himoto. The only difference I saw between the monsoon and the inferno were the upper front a-arms, everything else almost looks identical. The only thing I see the same on the vtx are the wheels and the clutch bell. What parts did you buy from the inferno that you know for sure fit the monsoon that are upgraded parts that would fit?

I bought complete front and rear arm sets(C hub design), complete center dif assembled, radio tray w/posts and rcvr box, complete front/rear dif assembled(interchangeable), engine mounts, axles and shafts, 48-52 tooth spurs, hinge pin set, hinge capture braces, etc.

Actually the Monsoon is better than the Inferno US Sport! It is closer to the 777!

I haven't recieved it all yet but I am 99.9% confident that everything will fit hole/hole and bolt/bolt!

Never dreamed I would have an Inferno Truck for $279 LOL!!!!!!!!

I see you said you bought engine mounts. What did you find out about the motor being able to be moved forward and using a regular clutch bell over the weird on that comes on the monsoon?

If you have any pics of your monsoon with any of these parts could you post them so I can see how it looks? I was thinking of getting a inferno body but want to make sure it fits which it should.

You can change your clutchbell with the stock engine mount, just reverse the offset heatsink part that the engine bolts to! The top pieces that are silver! The Kyosho mount is not offset like the Monsoon's, that is one of the few differences.

I just tried that and I still need about a 1/4" more to move the motor forward and use a regular clutch bell. I guess I will just wait for the new clutch bells from redcat to come out and use them.
