All engines and temps are different depending on outside air temp and humidity. 2.5 out on HS is a good place to start, but you just need to fine tune.

Yeah i know that. But I just want an idea of what others are running. I'm familiar with tuning and junk..Just wanted to see how my tune is compared to others.

HI I'm new here! what shock springs should I use for a dusty track with medium sized jumps? Also, will the muggy clutch and spin start work on the LRP spec 3? is it a direct installment? You guys are all running the lrp z28r right? Any mods to make it fit on stock engine mount?

Thanks

Well, just put two tanks through the Mugster with the LRP back in..

And, problems, problems.. I noticed some crunching when I put the truck back in the car and it rolled backwards.. Sssooooo, sounds like fried bearings... It has a new never used Muggy 12T stock CB on it too - so down 2 from what I had on the Nova.. Running Dynamite long-life shoes and 1.0 springs I think.. Would ceramic bearings make a difference??

And secondly, despite replacing the whole steering linkage, there is a HUGE amount of slop, especially on the left front wheel... The little link that goes under the chassis brace, from left to right, if I tighten it too much, it binds, and worries me for the servo's sake.. Too loose though and it's slop-o-rama.... What's up with that?? I've seen the upgrade thing about using a turnbuckle, but why should I have slop if I've got new parts in there(basically I just replaced the linkage arm itself, and the plastic thingies...)??

Also, the OWB (HPI roto) is slipping badly.. It started slipping the last time I ran it too, but I had taken it out, cleaned things up, etc.. - was expecting it to go a bit better..

Anyway, I assume I can just run the original Mach Spinstart backplate from the Mach that I switched to bumpstart?? In which case I have to use the search.. Something about "elongating the screws"...?? Unless of course somebody could be a peach and clarify that for me real quick...

All of that said though, the engine ran like a FREAKIN' DREAM compared to that d.umbass Nova.. Was actually borderline too cold for too long.. Switched to an MC 8(all I had with me..), and temps were still cold.. As in, took like two minutes to get up about 160.. But responded perfectly to needle adjustments, and just is all around nice to drive... Fast, smooth, and just fun.. Killer engine.. Now if I could just get the rest of the stuff sorted out...

Talk about a truck living off its good looks.. If it didn't look this good I'd probably have gotten rid of it... (Nnnaaahh... It IS fun to drive too... Just these little nit-picky things.. The truck's got quite a bit of wear and tear on it too, so some of it's to be expected I guess...)

Yea, my front has got a ton of slop in it as well. It just looks like a design problem. Not sure it can be fixed.

Your truck looks sweet though.

Any ideas on how to get some more steering out of the Muggy?

I think going to non-offset wheels has helped..

But I HAVE to eliminate some of this slop.. Will post a vid later showing how bad it is...

I got this Mug used as a roller too, and it already had 15 degree carriers, so I'm actually kind of curious to see if steering would be better with stock carriers... Maybe some GPM alu ones or something - that I could switch up with my LST2...

Use the stock springs, they are fine.

Don't know about LRP spec 3, I am running the Mach 26.

Steering slop:

Wheels are LPR Crimefighters, no offset...

And here's the LRP - not a great vid, but didn't have a camera-man(or woman..):
