The first Element is the ARF version, wood fuse and monkote. The second Element ,is a wood fuse that is glassed, with white paint.
The hardware is MK type, for the price the Element 170 is a great value.

The Element 170 is all over the Fliton site,...

The wood ARF version anyway,...$600.00 + shipping,...great deal!

The ARF pre-painted composite is not on the site,..special order only and 2K,...waiting on mine at the moment,...end of September for me.

I am looking forward to the build threads for both versions and the flight reports!

Bill H.

Yes it will accept both,...but you will have to use the Dave Brown isolation beam mount. I have hard mounted both engines and they are fine,...but the Dave Brown mount "should work better.

I used one on an Icepoint several years ago with a OS-140 RX and it work just fine,...I changed out the engine later to an OS-160 hard mounted and it was just fine. If you hard mount the motor you may have to make some shim's out of 1/8 ply or equal. The mount should work fine for either one,.....Central Hobbies should have it?

The CF was add, the ARF does not come with it. The Kit does not come with a Instruction Manual. That is the only reason I'm waiting.

The Arf composite construction can be found on page one of the thread,.....it's a composite sandwich of balsa, carbon fiber,..etc.
As soon as mine gets here I will post some photos for everyone. If someone already has one of the new ARF composite's, perhaps we could get some detailed photos.
