I have a question for those of you with the HobbyWing Pentium 30A BEC... There are three wires that need to be connected to the motor. They are labeled "A", "B", and "C"

Which one connects to red, which connects to black and which connects to yellow?

OK - this is weird. My 2 month old V3 came with a motor marked as 3500kv on the bottom, and has a squirrel cage type fan on the bottom. SO - what did I get, the old motor, the old motor modified with the fan, or what? I have no idea what the original 3500kv motor that came on the V2 looked like - please, someone let me know what I have!!! (it is an outrunner, but maybe they all are!)

Here's what my motor looks like:

Mike,

Great to hear from you. As for the later HDX450 kits, they are shipping with the 3500Kv motor, which should work very well with your kit. The 3400Kv motor listed is an outdated listing of info. Hope that helps!

If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know - I would be more than happy to help.

Thanks for contacting Heli Direct!

Actually, it DOES look pretty nice naked!! I got some red metal flake paint from the auto parts place I was thinking about painting it with. I was torn between metal flake red or gold.

Has anyone ever painted their blades with fluorescent paint?? Either green, orange, or yellow??

I wouldn't paint the rotor blades because that would change the finish, the airfoil and the weight. A buddy of mine put some of that holographic blade tape on his.

Does it show up well? Did he put it on both sides? I was talking about a very thin spray paint job - not globbing it on!

USHobbySupply also carries parts, and will give a slight discount. Some T-Rex parts fit - main shaft, main gear, landing gear, canopy, - the head is uniqe, but some parts will work, such as the washout arms. Spindle is unique, tail is unique. I think the T-Rex belt will fit. Blades will fit (both).

Oh yeah, the linkage set work great also!

Well, it looks like it came with a Futaba T6XA - I don't believe that TX will work with eCCPM - I have one and bought a 7Ch because you can select the swash types. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. Unless it's a T6XAS, which I believe DOES have swash type settings.

Hey restinpieces, sorry its been a while... I usually post on RCGroups because the search function is useless here on RCU.

The build is on hold until my align tail drive gear shows up. The stock HDX bearing was junk.
Heli Direct sent me a clear, paintable t-rex canopy with holes and grommets which fits perfectly.

I'm also waiting for a radio system before I finish up the wiring and the head setup.
