lol
It's good to be a kid and make a few bucks during the summer with no expenses to cover
I contacted them and I got on the waiting list. The lady was very nice, and she said it will probably be a couple weeks. I will keep practicing with my medusa for now

Awesome, can't wait to hear how she flies on the HDX. Yeah, it sure is nice. The problem with me, is that I just have way too many darn hobbies. I could build a blinged Trex 600 if I wanted to, but then I'd be broke . Gotta save a little money for gas to get around up at college this semester.

Ok I finally got my HDX. I have a couple of questions. First off the head is a little in need of tuning(this HDX has never been flown.) Can someone post a close up pic of the head mounted on the Heli please? It would really help me get going!!!

Trumpet,

How do you tight the screws at both ends of the spindle shaft?
I asked you that because I'm too scared to lose the screws in flight
so I may overtight them which probably cause binding.

Thanks.

Yeah its kind of a delicate balance between getting that ratchet feeling, or being tight but smooth. The best way is to put a VERY VERY small amount of locktite on the screws, making absolutely certain not to get it to the bearing, and gently tighten them till snug. I usually get one all the way tight, then gently do the other side. Might not be the best way, but it helps avoid the ratchety feeling.

I have been using the RFG3 sim and I think I am ready for the real thing "at least hovering"! so please any ideas or tips would be great! thanks guys!

DX7 would be great to use! If cost isn't a large factor, a Castle Creations or Kontronic Jazz 35A ESC, and some Flight Power or Thunder Power 2100mah 20C lipos would be great. If cost is a factor, you could use an Align BL-35X or Dynam 35A ESC, and some MegaPower lipos.

^All good places to start

In my opinion she flies just as well as most trex's.

If you're new to helis, i'd suggest finding some of the newbie threads and guides, and watch Finless Bob's videos over at www.helifreak.com . Those types of things are very helpful for getting started.

I have a DX 7 that I love, like Trumpet said the HDX 450 flies as well as a Trex 450, I have both helis.
You can't go wrong with the HDX, trust me.

Trumpet, thanks for the pics. The fellow who puts this together did not install the linkage rod on the rear ball link on the swashplate. How the heck am I going to get that on there?

No problem, I love using my camera

Mmm yeah those are a PITA. Just wait till you have to take it back off . The best way I've found is to unscrew the rear ball link rod, snap on the linkage, then screw it back in. Don't forget the locktite

Whew! Got all my servos on and linked up and straightend out the head. Too bad I'm going to have to take em all out again once i get it powered up. Next question, I am going to be using a cheap gyro on this set up for now as I'm on a tight budget, so what kind of tail servo is affordable but a good fit for the
