OMG, I feel bad, but it's also too funny, but on a good note, he's probibally got every template he'll need to rebuild that plane from the groung up, but the sad thing is it looks like it's slowly turning into an epoxy monster. I would have ripped out all the oil soaked broken parts and cut new ones out of solid single pieces, not a jigsaw puzzle of broke bits. And now,....he's doinked it so bad that the saito needed an overhaul.

Hye planebuilder66,

One thing is for sure, this jigsaw puzzle is heavier than when it came out of the box

quote:

he's doinked it so bad that the saito needed an overhaul.
And this is also for sure.
This engine has run for more then 30 hrs in total (I even think over 40) on different airplanes.

Even on a Calmato waterplane and due to several watercrashes the engine will have a little of corrosion inside.
But as long it`s working we will fly with it

Here the watercrashes:

Wow. My two year old thread came back around and with it came the master re-builder himself!!

Nice to meet you and I'm glad, maybe a little more surprised, to hear the Decathlon is still flying. I watched the video cringing with only one eye open waiting for the inevitable… But it never came! Nice landing!

I'm glad you got a laugh from our good natured teasing. I'm not only jealous of your building skills but also your command of a second language. Everyone should visit Berto's sight www.Bosmodelair.nl. There are many nice videos. The Calmato vids give a new meaning to the term "water rudder".

Hye edh13,

master re-builder
That`s way to much credit, I`m just a nice flyer/builder who likes building to much and the cheapest way is mainly to repair old planes and make them fly agian.

As long it isn`t a total write off I`m affraid that I will repair it again.
It`s a to nice looking aircraft for just laying around, we just have a lot fun with it

Nice landing!
Thanks.

Don`t be jealous yuo also can do it and the second language is mostly the fact that I`m working as an airplane engineer and al the manual are in english so I have to

Yep, and the crashes ar spectacular.

Here our Calmato Sport when it went wrong:

I have rebuilt some stuff that was along the lines of this plane, but only once ! I truly love that long thread of rebuild and covering ! The funny thing is A guy in my club had the same model and crashed it, he then got another and crashed it. and neither were rebuilt, and both looked like showroom models compared to that poor plane ! I did laugh and feel sorry for the poor pilot that got asigned to fly onboard ! When I crashed my first trainer I took and wrapped the pilots head with a white bandage, then put some blood running down the side of his head, I wish I could find that guy , he was my very first casualty !
