I've got 3 emails this morning and 2 people last weekend told me somebody has picked the nickname "GodSpad" and they don't know who this person is? I don't know who they are talking about? I know GodSpeed is telling somebody to be safe and careful. Does anybody have any guess who it is? Thanks Boogerboy!

Ahh GodSpad,

ancient Greek i think, he was originaly Corous Pvcus, also refered to in Roman folk law as SPADus Maximus.

aparently he had humble beginings in the foot hills of ancient Combatus, first refered to in Aristotle's works on the realativity of strength V's cost (also called "how to build a chariot for the cost of a few spare sheckles and alms" also pops up in the ocasional historical war documents, aparently he single handedly laid waste to the invading armies led by Balsaus Brittleus.

he was much revered as a forward thinker and would activley campaign against the leaders of society, who used to say "but Corus, it's always been done like this" or "Corus, that chariot will never work"

even today theres a world wide group called SPADers who follow his teachings and are still shuned by main stream thinkers.

thats all i know, just what was passed down to me by word of internet

Ahh, don't forget the great battle between SPADus Maximus and Balsamus Splinternicus. Isn't there a star formation dedicated to this?

Boogerboy,

Don't know! Did a search on the members site and came up with a "Godspeed" and a "got_speed?", but no "GodSpad."

Woodsy,

Don't forget the Kirk Douglas classic: "SPADicus!"
Or the individual that shaped history, "Alexander the SPAD!"
Or in more recent history, the spy "Boris SPADinov" that used to hunt "Moose and Skwerl!"

Frank,

Was that SPADromeda, or SPADorion?

Who was the famous person in history that came up with the timeless quote: "Cogito, ergo SPAD!"? (I think, therefore I SPAD!)

Wow! I didn't know history could be so much fun! (Or so inventable!)

Blue skies,
DL

Woodsy,

I believe you're thinking of the line: "SPAD, ergo sum!" "I SPAD, therefore I am!" That was the classic line from "Gladiator," when Tattooicus just cut the ribbon off of Maximus, who then dirt napped, and got the "thumbs down" routine from Krauticus.

Hey! I just remembered the line from "The Day The Earth Stood Still" (with Michael Renie as "Klaatu" where the heroine told the robot: "Gort: Klaatu, SPADrata nikto." I believe the loose translation is (lost my decoder ring...) "Yo, Gort-dude, let's blow this chump planet and SPAD our way home!"

This is really bringing back memories!

And don't forget Arnold Schwartzenegger's classic line from "The Terminator;" "I'll be SPAD ..."

Blue skies,

DL

but wasnt the other movie SPADiator

and those great old tv series LAND OF THE SPAD's, Thunder SPAD's, Fire ball XL SPAD
or the great comedies the 3 SPAD's staring Tattoo as Larry Kraut as Moe and off course Mr Clean as Curley

From Romeo and Spadet
Remeo "what plane through yonder window breaks? It is the Balsa and Spadet is the victor"
Spadet "good bye, good ridance combat is such sweet sorrow that i shall say HA untill the morrow"

or the SPADlet classic about the balsa witches

First Witch: Round about the sky they go;
In the balsa entrails throw.
Tattoo, that under cold sky fights
Days and nights has thirty-cuts
Swelter'd pilot sleeping not,
Be thou first i' the winners spot.

All: SPAD, SPAD duck and weave;
balsa burn, and crash and tumble.

(working on the other 2 witches)

More SPADspear:

"...to thine own SPAD be true, and thou canst then be false to no plane."

"Frailty thy name is balsa!"

"Alas, poor SPADrick, I knew him well Horatio."

SPADius Caesar: "Et tu, Balsa?"

Rocky: "Yo, SPADrian, we did it!"

And who can forget Creedence Clearwater Revival's "There's a SPAD Moon on the Rise."

WARNING: PUN QUOTA EXCEEDED! WINDOWS WILL NOW SHUT DOWN...
