Status: offline 		I had what I consider success with the Q500 LS last evening.

Being that so many have freely shared information with me in the past, I hope this will help pay off some of that debt. Though the evil competitor in me did think about keeping this quiet for a month, but that only lasted for a few seconds (inner dialogue: "Don't submit, don't push that submit button you pansy" shhhh Evil AJ:)...

Results may vary, but this is the set-up I plan to start with in a couple weeks in Muncie. (inner dialogue: "If I were you I'd leave those heads nice and high..." shhhh )

Here are the numbers that worked for me, thanks for the help Mr. Shadel. I'll omit all the trials and tribulations to get to this point as they've been pretty well documented already (3K+ rich, small props, peaky, getting hot, etc, etc.).

Q500 LS Notes:

LS-1 Motor: 1/2 gallon on bench with break in prop and fuel, ~15 flights now.

Date: 6/12/2007
Temp: 80F
Humidity: ~60%
Fuel: Powermaster 15% (standard, no extra oil)
Set-up: 187/14
Prop: 8.8 x 8.75
Peak: 20.5K (Did not get hot like with higher head settings)
Launched: 19.5K
Plug: Looked new, just ever so slight carmel color
Exhaust on Bottom of Plane: Light in color, still nice and rich.

General: Good airspeed and unload in turns. Runs just like the SS motor now. I believe the big dawg, 8.8 x 9.25 is back in the game. About 1K rpm better then my best SS motor with the 8.8 x 8.75 prop.
