Hello,

I have been using the 5475HB as a throttle servo in the Quique 86" Yak as many others have, after 20 flights or so the servo has just stripped gears internal on me.
I thought this was a much stronger servo then nylon one?

Karbonite is a big no-no where high vibration levels (such as those found in gassers or large 4-strokes) are concerned.

You'd be better off with a metal or even nylon geared servo than Karbonite on your throttle.

Karbonite has mechanical properties that are close to those of glass. Very hard and quite strong under sustained consistent forces -- but if you expose it to shocks it just shatters.

I've used the HS5475 in 3D profiles and 90-sized warbirds with no problems -- but I would *not* use them on anything bigger.

Xjet,

that makes complete scense, I took the servo out and the gear just split in half, the remaining pieces were easy to shatter into very small pieces. I'll be staying away from these servos from now on, but will keep with all the Hitec metal servos.

thanks
