Ok, I might be getting back to flying at a normalized field, so I might be able to get some larger aircraft up.

I have a hobbistar 60 setup on a .75 ST motor at the moment. I've become a believer in electric since getting this little kadet, so I'd like to think about converting it to electric as well.

I'd also like to go to a motor that might be usable in a 4* 60 conversion later down the line.

I'm looking mainly at getting one of the turborix cheap-o Hong Kong motors from eBay. There BIG in-runners and out-runners only run about fifty, and there cheaper 60amp ESCs aren't but 50ish, so I'd like to get some specs to look for.

I'm also still a bit fuzzy, what's the big diff. in in-runner vs. out-runner?

I hope this didn't multi-post on me

What about this motor?http://cgi.ebay.com/Turborix-833-rpm-v-1000w-Outrunner-Brushless-Motor_W0QQitemZ200117834943QQihZ010QQcategoryZ100059QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

Try: www.electrifly.com This site is part of Tower Hobbies. It will answer most of your questions.I have just finished converting the Hobbico Nexstar to electric and am about finished with an old discontinued kit from Great Planes, the Super decathlon 40.

Couldnt find much as far as sizing a motor on that site.

Another question, would that motor work on a .25 size trainer, then a four star fourty?

What about forking out for a hacker a30 12xl? for either trainer.

Go back on the site. Click on Brushless Power Systems. When that comes up,click on Glow to Brushless Conversions.Scroll down to engine size etc. Also on this page look up to upper right and it has conversion of specfic planes.Click on that and check it out. This is where I got all the info to convert my Nexstar.I used what they recommended and it flys great.I use two 7 cell nimh 3300 mah batteries. I'm not into Lipo batteries yet.
I'll be off line till tomorrow if you have anymore questions.

Ok now I think I have it.

that 1000watt motor would give me 125 watts per pound on a 60 sized trainer.

it would give me almost 175 watts, maybe more, on the .25. I'm thinking I might get it and run 2 x 3s li-po 2200Mah pack with a 60 amp speed controller.

It will also work if I work on lightning a four-star fourty up a bit down the road.

I have a stupid question, if I have a 1900MaH pack, can I run it parallel with a 2k pack or no?

Any packs connected together should be exactly the same. No mix & match. Same miah, same voltage. Maybe someone with experience in Lipo,if that is what you are going with, will be more helpful.
Good luck, Jerry
