zurie -> TREX 450 SE v2 KIT + DX7 + 401 + etc (6/14/2007 8:30:51 PM)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250125354322

COMPLETE COMBO INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
Align 450SE V2 Version with with 325 Pro Rotor Blade
Align 430xl 3700kv Brushless motor
Align BL35x Speed Control
Align 2100mah 3cell 22c lipo battery pack
Align AC Charger
Specktrum DX7 Radio Heli version (MD2)
Spektrum AR700 Receiver
Hitec HS65HB Servos 3x
Futaba S9650 Digital Tail Servo
Futaba 401 Gyro

around 989 dollars.

My questions:

1) is this a good deal.

2) if i hand select basically the same parts, can i get a better deal

3) do you think the DX7 servo's were removed and are being sold individually, as well as other small things to cut corners and save money so it looks like a great deal to the consumer?

4)Spektrum AR700 Receiver... does this come with the DX7? or is it an additional charge if I went to the store and purchased a new DX7 kit for 340 bucks.

The AR7000 is too big for this application, you want the new AR6100 reciever. You can get the DX7 either way. The HS-65 servos are good servos.

The real question is it a good deal... no, I don't think so. Keep looking there should be better deals, not that I could name one off the top of my head...

rcmiket -> RE: TREX 450 SE v2 KIT + DX7 + 401 + etc (6/14/2007 8:48:41 PM)

I think that's a pretty good deal. I have basically the same set up except for the servos and charger. I went for the HS65MG instead and a different charger. The DX7 sells for 399 most places and you would not use the servos that came with it. The 401 is the best gyro around in my book. I'm sure if you shop around you might find better pricing but then you have to deal with shipping costs from several places. You'll love the 450V2 its a great Helli. Good Luck Mike

are the HS65MG's the one with the different materials for the gears but essentially the same servo's/size/ etc.

also... regardless I am scrapping the DX7's servo's right. would i be better off looking for a barebones DX7 (no servo's no AR700) and then finding my own AR6100.. i think they are like 40 - 50 bucks. I also have my own charger and wonder if that deal is putting a 60 - 100 dollar charge extra cause of the charger...

i also found a 450 SE v2 with Align 430xl 3700kv Brushless motor
Align BL35x Speed Control for around 399. someone throw out some solid prices so I can look in that ballpark. SEv2 preferebly

399 for the helos good... go from there....

The ebay deal you are going to get the HS65s with carbonite gears instead of the spectrum servos (really e-flight servos). These are great little servos, not as heavy duty as the metal geared ones but I prefer the normal gears. They might let you mix and match components since you know what you want and have a charger... The AR6100 is cheaper they should let you sub that too...

rcmiket -> RE: TREX 450 SE v2 KIT + DX7 + 401 + etc (6/14/2007 9:04:08 PM)

The DX7 comes with standard size digital servos or at least mine did. The DX6 has the mini servos.

zurie -> RE: TREX 450 SE v2 KIT + DX7 + 401 + etc (6/14/2007 9:12:10 PM)

the LHS can order a DX7 with micro servo's... specifically designed for micro helis in mind.

but... they are not HS65MG's.... so its kinda a mute point what they include... what really sucks is that they don't have a bare bones DX7 that lets you mix and match your own servo's...

Claude626 -> RE: TREX 450 SE v2 KIT + DX7 + 401 + etc (6/15/2007 2:05:02 AM)

I got offered:

Align 450SE V2 Version with with 325 Pro Rotor Blade
Align 430xl 3700kv Brushless motor
Align BL35x Speed Control
Align 2100mah 3cell 22c lipo battery pack
Hitec HS65HB Servos 3x
Futaba S9650 Digital Tail Servo
Futaba 401 Gyro

For a total of $620 shipped. The guy also offered me the DX7 and the AR7000 for $280. I went ahead and bit on the deal and he threw in a pitch gauge.(prolly $10 value) Total comes out to be $900 shipped.(no tax)

I looked around to see if hand picking is cheaper and here's how I broke it down:

TrexSE new V2 kit with esc, motor, etc -- $399
Futaba 401 Gyro -- $130
Hitec HS65HB Servos -- $20 x 3 = $60
Futaba S9650 Digital Tail Servo -- $60

Total: $649 + shipping

I suppose we can ditch calculating tax because most online etailers don't charge tax anyways, but they do charge shipping. So for 620 shipped, I thought it was decent. Not hot, but the pricing is just like parts separate on the low side of pricing.

That was a good deal, how did you fit the AR7000?

zurie -> RE: TREX 450 SE v2 KIT + DX7 + 401 + etc (6/15/2007 2:39:03 AM)

I just got back from the LHS today with a brand new 450 SE v2, Spektrum DX7 heli controller, AR7000, GY401, 3 hitec 65mg's, 430xl motor, futaba digital tail servo. came out around 975 and thats with everything retail and with uncle sam hitting me up for tax.

they are swapping the 4 servo's in the DX7 with the 3 hitech 65's and knockin off a few change. I am going to start my build as soon as my girlfriend leaves... :D :D :D
