The bear hat is shaped out of epoxy putty.

The stars are painted on.

This Air soft gun has all the mods and shoots hard enough to actually leave an indent mark on plywood from about 3 ft.

Really nice texture under the paint. Is that one of thouse "seude" paint finishes under the topcoat?

Thanks for the compliment, but I don't think it is true. Your project was much more involved with the gear replacement, etc. All I did was substitute the nylon glutch gear with a metal one. It runs really good and there is absolutely no gear slipping, even in tall grass. However this tank does not have metal tracks and probably won't get any as I don't want to upset anything as it works so well. My T-34 needs a major gear redesign and I think pushing the envelope with the metal tracks ends up causing some grief.

My next project involves a complete rebuild on the drive train on my T-34. I tried fixing the stock one with brass sleeves, but I just can't get it to work as it needs to. All the work I did with my IR experiments will be ripped out. If I ever try this again I will go with a commercially available product. Right now I am very happy with the modified airsoft guns, and paintballs

Yes the primer was suede textured paint. It gives a really good cast metal look. A light sanding with fine sandpaper removes some of the texture on the fenders. This helps distinguish cast metal from stamped or machined metal. On this particular model I went so far as to paint bare metal color on the edges, before the primer, and then sprayed the topcoat. This way when you distress the paint you get the primer and some "bare" metal showing.

Nice Job YHR ! I don't know how you guys get so much time in the summer, its not that I am doing yard work but goofing off in the nice weather
My t-34 is next for me too, the Sherman just needs markings now and should be done tonight.
