I want to do the exact same thing with my SIG
Kadet Senior ARF. Im going to be using a Canon
Powershot A40 and mount it in the center area
like you did.
Did you replace the stock windows on your plane?
They look really clear! The stock Senior windows are
blurry, I guess they didnt plan on us shooting pics
through the side window!

Well done!

I used clear mono coat on the side windows except in the camera area. I used a piece of acetate over the camera and front window.

This picture was taken at full throttle during the initial climb out, the distortion is clearly evident. The other pictures were taken with the engine off.

Very interesting pics. I think they are the first pics I've seen that have been taken from within the plane though some type of window. While not quite as clear as a "windowless" camera, they give an interesting effect and it reminds me of actually flying in an airplane.

Good job.

Awsome, I thought someone would do this I was planing to take pictures with my senior & a d-link camera I had not thought of using the side window .
A pretty fatal crash sidelined that project untill this winter , Plane is allmost ready.

I think that is exactly the way pictures should br taken. I like the prespective of looking out a window and see the bottom of the wing and strut in the photo. It also makes a nice "aiming" device, simply "aim" the wingtip at whatever you want to shot.
I have intentions of doing the same thing with a Cub, "lookin though the strut".
Nice Job.

I moved the camera next to the window with only the lens sticking out a hole in the plastic.

Thanks to all for the positive comments. Be sure to post some pics when you get them!

Wow that is really a cool viewpoint! And as Coomarlin said, it really does make me feel like I am in a real airplane!

Nice job and I'm glad you're happy with the set-up!

Hey I'm sorry I didn't make the decision sooner Goliath!, little did I realize when I started offering camera mods just how many folks are interested in a complete system. Of course it doesn't hurt to have these $50.00 cameras available to everyone too!

The decision to offer these complete systems wasn't an easy decision...carrying inventory, order tracking, producing the switches and performing camera mods...all told I'm now spending a great deal of time every evening on this endeavor. But I've made the decision to provide this service to anyone who requests it.

I guess you could say it's my own way of paying back my debt of gratitude to those who've helped me in this wonderful hobby.

Regards,
Roger

see this thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/tm.asp?m=510658

I did the connections myself and regretted it. The switch requires no programing . SMT R/C sells the whole rig, camera and all for $120, which is the way i should of gone..
