Bad day for the 102". Real bad!

Straight line down, followed by inverted pull out, followed by pulling up.....wait.....why is the nose going to the ground, I better pull up some more.......flatline.

Don't pull....PUSH.

Don't look at your cell phone to see who's calling when you're flying. It can wait. like a dumba$$ I pull the phone out, look, put it back in my pocket wondering if they'll leave a message, instead of concentrating on the plane. DUmb Dumb Dumb.

Fortunately, it was able to come in somewhat flat, NO engine damage, NO servo damge, except for the wings being pulled out, not much other damage. Now, I'm anal, so as far as I'm concerned I will need a whole new plane, but I have to tell you, when you look at the inside of the wings to see how they are built....holy cow these things are beefy (ask me how I know). There are two big tubes of carbon fiber running down the main spar 3/4 the length of the wing. That last 1/4 is the only part that broke. I am very impressed with the strength of the wing. It took the entire brunt of the crash (which of course then worked it's way inward).

Anyway, I'll be down for a few weeks to say the least!

PUSH, don't pull.

Really sorry to hear about your plane. I'm glad that nothing else got damaged. As far as wing construction goes, only Quique Yaks can take my blenders. Trust me, I know! Wings are built super strong!

I hope everything woks out for you. Still have the Badge

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I'm not sure if the AMA stipulate that mobile phones should be turned off when flying or near a Tx. Our MAAA here in Australia certainly does. I think it's more to do with RFI than distraction as in your case.

Is your Yak a write off or is it repairable?

Cheers
Quik.

sorry for your loss. you may have read here about me not installing wing clips on one wing and my QQ 102 went spinning in from arouns 150'. i thought all was lost but the yaks are tough and with a little work and a few new parts i had mine going again. it now has well over 600 hard flights ...blenders, full speed snaps, walls, harrier landing, ect........QQ is the man and knows how to build a plane that can take abuse.
