i just bought a kyosho subaru with a gxr .28 engine and im having problems getting it idling and when it actually does idle for a few seconds and open the throttle up it dies immediately. the shop that i bought the car from tuned it once but when i got it back to my house it ran for a little then died and began doing what its doing now. for some reason it didnt come with a manual so i have no clue what the factory carb settings are and was told from the guy at the shop that the low speed screw is 5 out and 1 in and the high speed is 3 out and the idle screw is 1-1.5mm. does this sound about right? the only way i can get the thing running is by pouring fuel into the carb which i assume is the reason that it only runs for like 7 sec. for some reason im thinking the fuel is making its way into the engine.. any one have any thoughts. thanks

Well, I THINK the idle screw is supposed to be 1-1.5mm when Brakes are applied.

Is your engine sealed up well? you might have a air leak, but Drive.hard's comment should be tried 1st, it is most likly. Also if the clutch spring is bad that can make it die when you hit the brakes or idle. make sure you have the idle screw set so the carb remains about 2mm or the thickness of a credit card open.
