Hi I have Just Recieved My Skydiver from rcskydiving it is fantastic and the build quality is excelent but i went to my local model shop and looked for telemaster or senior and they dont have them as I am in the uk they have a 60 size trainer called a Tiger Trainer and it dosent look much bigger than my current trainer Arrising Star 0.46 engine i would put my os .91 four sroke in either to lift the jumper any idease will this sixty size trainer lift my man

Paradrop: what is the wing span on your tiger trainer in inches and how high does it set off of the ground with the present landing gear? You should have at least nine inches of groung clearence so that your diver does not drag. Bob ( in St Louis Missouri ) fair winds and blue skies[8D]

Paradrop, We have a PT-60, a 71" flat bottom wing with a OS .91 FX. 15x7 prop, it will easily carry a 4lb. skydiver up to drop altitude. As Bob said though you will need a taller landing gear, and a double strut front gear is also a big help. GaryV

Hi, I use the Thunder Tiger .60 trainer for dropping a single jumper sounds like the plane your describing. Its a very stable single jumper drop plane in my opinion. I only extended the landing gear slightly and cut a hole between two formers on the bottom of the fuselage. I reinforced this section higher up in the fuse as not to take away any strenght. This made a perfect buildt in drop box which accomodates the chutepack of the diver. We had a previous Thunder Tiger .60 trainer that had an external drop box but then you have to extend and reinforce the landing gear drasticly which produce a whole set of new problems as GaryV pointed out. Hi Paradrop, Skydiver SAM is my own fibre glass design. AUW is about 950gram (2spound) to 1000gram (2.2pound) depending on balast for wind conditions. My diver is 45 cm tall. I'm not sure of Dave's ultimate skydiver specs, but size and weight should be close, I may be wrong, Dave you want to jump in here with some specs? Were we talking about the same plane, just curious?

Yes it is the same plane I'm Going To install a SC 91 Four Stroke with a three blader on it what do you think??

Hi, I think your setup should be fine. Two blade prop will aslo do the trick. What type of internet connection do you have? I can mail you a clip of a take-off run so you can see the lift performance I'm getting with my setup will give you an good idea. If you want a clip just tell me if you have a size limit, I can adapt it to fit you requirements.

Hey guys, The Ultimate diver we sell is 16" tall and 3 lbs. exactly. This seems to be a good size to be able to see them and not so big that it takes a huge plane to get them aloft. Looks like a very nice setup that you have broodwa. The key to success here is to keep it simple. All the drop boxs I have seen that work well are always simple. Don't over engineer a devise to work.

Hi Dave, thanks for the info, always good to compare sizes and know what other combinations out there works. Paradrop, although your diver is slightly heavier than mine, this plane can handle the extra weight. As Dave also said, keep it simple, as soon as you start to over think a design you make it more difficult. It is a very simple straight forward change to the original plane. I've been using it for drops for the past two years with no problems. The plane flies stable with internal drop box and has no bad flying habits very stable platform to drop divers off. I decided on the internal drop box because I found on the previous plane the external drop box added so much drag the plane didn't handle well after the diver was dropped.
