T3beatz,

Awsome flying. After 25 years of practice, I can't touch your 10 months. Natural talent! and Congrats!

Maidened my Lanier Yak 87" yesterday. Got 3 flights and all went well. I am not sure I like the way a Yak flies just yet.

Thanx... I practiced on realflight for about 3 weeks before i ever touched a gas plane. I had a Fly Zone Sky Fly 3ch ep first and then i got The Fly Zone Cessna... They both lasted for about a month, I hit a tree with the sky fly and the ground with the cessna... Then I moved up to the Tower hobbies Trainer and it lasted for about a month and a half because I was trying to do things I shouldn't with it!! I've had about 14 or 15 planes since I've started I have only about 7 and a half left!! LOL... I had a Lanier edge 540 87" and I lost it in the sun while flying with no shades on... I loved that plane it flew pretty good for me. Now I'm just huckin with the Bootleg Yak-54 with the Aeroworks color scheme. It cost me a total of about 1,000 bucks to finish but it flys pretty good...

I am posting a video a friend passed on to me.
This video is of twin 17 year old guys, flying twin Yaks.
The movie was shot last weekend Aug 9/10, at a fly in at Paynesville Minnesota.
If any of you are the people in the video, or know them, please chime in.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du0gAjZDhyY

Look at the picture of the cowls of these two Yak's.
It looks like a nice job of forcing the air though your cooling fins.
It is hard to tell from the picture, but it looks as if the entire cowl opening is blocked except for a hole the size of the engine.
I wonder if there is also baffling around the fins?

Nice planes, and a nice job of flying.

Greg

I'll be Yakk'n soon!!!

I'm in the process of finishing a DawghouseRC Yak55sp. This will be my biggest bird to date and so far I'm very impressed other than some hardware that I decided to replace I have assembled it straight from the box... :-)

Hopefully it will be ready next saturday..!

Ed

I finally got my 73" QQ Yak smoking.

All up weight is 11lbs 5.5oz! Lightened by using CF to replace motor box top, servo and battery trays, and many other areas. Receiver battery is TP 7.4v 2100 lipo. Smoke system is the new Harris smoke pump running off the receiver battery. Using an 8oz tank with SuperDri smoke oil. I get 2 minutes of smoke which is perfect for a good show with out getting boring. I wait till the flight is at least half done before turning on

Cheers,
Chris
