ORIGINAL: USMC2111 Once you are below 50%, you are no longer in heading hold mode. Try to set it up to where it is in HH mode (above 50%) at least in idle up. On my gyro, i use to have a problem with it wanting to drift when in a hard climb out or during aerobatics. The fix to this was to increase the linkage ball from 10mm to 14mm out from center on the tail servo. Then, i trashed the futaba gyro tape and bought some 3M double sided outdoor tape. Its a bit thinner than the futaba tape, and stiffer. This made all the difference in the world. My gyro holds rock solid in hard climb outs and aerobatics now with my gain set at 75%. Not in this case, it depends on the radio and screen you are using to set the gain. In his case, using the gyro screen and the mode set to GY like the 7c and 9c series, when it says N thats normal mode, A = avc mode (NOR and AVC for the 9c) what you see is what you get. So A (or AVC) 70 means 70 percent gain in heading hold mode. That over/under 50 stuff applies to JR radios.
