B.A.C.K. had our first battle day today...I had a great time...I think we all did...even though it was just 3 of us.

Firefly, and Pershing against my Tiger 1...I held my own most of the time....Here are some pictures of the set up and some of the HL's we had there also.

It was me, my son, and ArmChairGeneral...

We have some video...mine is not the greatest...I left the camera running while we battled...no combat camera person (wife) available to record. I'll post some later after editting. Paul also taped some. We have a lot of pictures these are just some of mine...Paul took a bunch, as well as my kid.

We had a blast...hopefully Diggger and his Father in law will be with us the next time...I could use a King or two on my side.

Yep...they 1/18th scale....but close enough...I'm short myself...lol...I'd be that height in that scale.

They dress up the battlefield a bit.

Battling is what its all about, isn't it...? And I thought they were fun to build...

My pershing is still an 'Alice' and it was a good day of IR battles. Dennis brought his 'city' along, 2 great bridges and the bunker. This was my first day using the Firefly and my first IR battle, I used to do the RC Warships ( bb shooting and sinking ) and this was as much fun with a lot less effort. Some highlights:
the Tiger mauled firefly crawling away into the brush while the Pershing occupied the Tiger and then sniping a few shots.
the Tiger mauled firefly becoming a pillbox on the bridge sniping a few shots while the pershing maneuvered for shot.
swinging the turret broadside and scooting between buildings for a quick shot.
The IR battle system works quite well, better than I thought it would since I was used to bb's. No ammo, no gas, very easy to use system.

Dennis got there at about 8am, I got there about 9am, we stayed till about 2:30pm. When it came time to charge the Tamiya batteries we would run the HL's around the city and take pics. We had about 5 battles that seemed to last about 20 mins - that sound right Dennis?

Sounds about right...what a BLAST!

I found an inverter online 1000W....can run 2 fog machines with that...checking it out right now.

Cool, I can do sound from my truck, I have removable speakers and it's setup to use my ipod. I can string together some real combat audio and the RC plane guys will be ducking for cover :P

the thing about that is, the combat system is optical, so those exciting moments of shooting thru the peasoup and listening for the clang of smashed metal is out of the window.... unfortunately

::edit:: oh i forgot im a chemistry student... yeah, unless you get the fog to be IR transparent , that is....

It won't be continuous....fog of war....manuever....out and fire. I don't know...just making this up as I go...lol. It'll be nice for photo ops if not anything else.

Excellent photos. Im in the process of trying to start a club with some friends and I need scale buildings and trees where did you get yours from.

I made them all...

I'm starting to make them from wood now though....most of those are 3/4 inch insulation which is kind of soft for making such large buildings...I used to make warhammer size buildings and this stuff was great for that size. In 1/16 they take a beating. All of my new ones will be from 3/4" plywood.
