Does anyone know where I can get wooden blades without the white covering. Just plane old blades.
Need them for a Honey Bee King II.

If that white covering was not there the wood blade would shatter and you'll have pieces of wood all over the place.
You can always buy a set then remove the covering but I wouldn't suggest doing that.
Those blade tips are doing over 200 MPH at full rotor speed.

I just read a post where someone got some thin epoxy, like the kind used for making fiberglass mat or CF construction and painted them on to the blades after he removed the monokote. He said they were many many times stronger, and if you get clear you'll be able to see the wood grain as well =)

can't remember where I saw the post now =P He did say to get the more expensive stuff because it soaks in better, and to put 1 coat on wait for it to soak into the wood and dry, and then put a second coat on, and then balance the blades after.

Keep them dipped in hot linseed oil for a day then wipe them dry.
After that a thin coat of polyurethane will seal then up.
I used that on the wooden blades I built up for a Benson gyro and I used then for three years.
