I took this info from a buddy.....

well we've all had our share of tank lean problems and some of us still do...but theres no good list of fixes and what they do......so i started playing with practial ideas that work for keeping a real car from experianceing some of our problems...like hard cornering G's pulling fuel from the carb/injection and hard starting cause the carb/injectors have got no fueal in "reserve" at them....took what i knew and started applying it in rc nitro scale
....alot of testing, re-routeing, replaceing, and alot of fuel line later.....(all tests were done on 2 revo's with 4 engines 2.5, 3.3, 26max, sts30 and 1 "new" revo tank 1 used revo tank and 1 with new seals)

first off the revo tank is a POS when it comes to tank lean...thats obvious..but i have cured it

a "small" durbro fuel filter in the pipe to tank will help clean up the "pulsing" some and just starts to fight tank lean

a "LARGE" 1/8th scale filter in line will not only give you some "reserve run time but when placed ABOVE the carb will help considerably with tank lean and cornering lean

a "coil" (used in the early days of stock car raceing and many other forms but now used as a "chiller" in drag raceing) can cure about 90% of cornering lean and about 50% of tank lean on its own but this depends greatly on space availible, your ability to make said coil, and length of coil...the longer the better..well to a point anyway.....as a bonus the coil will actualy cool and make the fuel a lil more dense or could be placed close to the engine in cold weather to keep fuel from gumming

"primer bulb" i tried it but wasnt to thrilled as it seemed to allow for some wierd presure changes in the carb line(wont rule out a bad bulb setup) but did fix a considerable amount of cornering lean..but considering it was attatched to a semi large filter i cant say that it wasnt the filter doing the job

line length...did ALOT of trial and error with tube length with nothing realy "hard" in the way of results..cause i could try it on 1 truck and try the same fuel line on the other truck or with a diferent engine and get mixed results..i will say this tho..routeing of the carb line does make alot of intresting diferances depending on how its looped or curved....on the exhaust side of things short seems to be best

ive put all of it together and gained a min or so of run time and can lay into corners as hard as i like and never even start to lean out...the tune is the same with the tank sucking dry as it is when its completely full..and all of this on the stock POS revo tank

heres the wifes truck with filters ..note the filter is ABOVE the carb and angled DOWN tward the carb (in the prosses of makeing her a coil)

..i didnt do the greatest job on that coil due to useing copper tubeing but even tho it "looks" kinked its not and its actualy larger ID than the fuel line..note the filter inside the coil..not intentional just didnt have a good way of mounting it just yet..
