Cost is $39.99, I have been out of town the last 2 weeks and hope to get it in the air very soon. I tried to fly it in my back yard, but it kept falling to the ground. I took it to the front yard and gave it a hard throw into the wind and it took off screaming fast, way to fast for flying in the front yard I need some practice at a field. This thing is very fast compared to the AA or MXPV. The instructions say that it will ROG with in 50' or so, I can't wait to try.

DJ, check out the thread on rcg, I think you got more than you know when you bought that plane. You made a score!!!

Sweet looking plane!
I had a modified AA with the same extended tail stab set up and
it flew nice. I noticed no adjustable flaps cut into them- already
trimmed to perfection? Interesting hollow body! Lots of curve in
the airfoil but the tail rudders curving inwards at the rear make me
wonder. Maybe because of the motor angles?
I hope it's a great flyer! Might get one.

Neuro, check out the rcg page on this plane. I almost have to have one. Apparently all the curves and hollow body have a serious design function. I may have to buy one tomorrow. My only hold up is turn without throttle. The acrobat is showing me just how important that is for a 2 channel. Hint, it has a sticky and is written by the dev.

OK, I bought one. Interesting plane, I gave it a bit of a maiden and decided that it needs to come with me tomorrow morning. It has a rudimentary turn wo throttle, and the tx upgrade might fix that, I'll have to read the other thread to figure that out. The designer is someone called Lee. I haven't seen him here.

OK, some basic info. wt 18.9g, ws 7.75", length OA approx 10.5", Motor rpm 21,000. Tricycle lg. And some hopeful notes, the lg is toed in which is something done by larger planes, by either toeing in or out it helps the plane go straight. Beautiful body work. Lee spent some time forming the airframe.

I gave the plane a couple of throws and found that it is completely different from one of my Aces, go figger. But the plane has major potential. Stock, so far the plane seems a bit hard to turn, but that could be a difference in brands/mods. I am very used to my aces with a mod'd controller. The Acrobat 3D befuddled me for the first couple of flights, but I think I'm getting close with it.

OK, flight stuff, this plane is a bear to launch. I think it was designed to ROG but the motor placement change buggered that. I am trying to find a good launch hold. I haven't found it yet. So far my best is to hold the tail of the plane between the "exhaust" and the fuse. The pic in the istructions does not work for me. Once in the air the plane will fly well but wants to dive so care is needed when using the throttle. If the nose is down and you give it gas you'll be pushing for the ground. However, if you punch the throttle when the nose is up you'll climb well. Punching the throttle at even flight will cause a climb. Assuming you have climbed to 40+' you can dump the throtttle and the will self correct and you should be able to climb again.

Overall, this plane stock is not as good as a tricked ace, but for a factory plane, it's pretty close. It is not a slow flier, but it is not a bad flyer either. For looks and flyability, this is a plane worth having in your hangar. For flyability, give me a couple of days. So far it seems a bear, but A few more flights and I'll have it.

Ok. the built in tx mod is a good thing. The power goes from 7 steps to true proportional throttle. The rog is about 10', it still has turning issues and the tx mod does not seem to address the turn with out throttle base speed. I am going to guess that with the motors on the correct spot the turn issue should be solvled. A better plane every flight.

Thanks to xcelrlee for both the plane and the info on bringing it back tooriginal specs.

Tim

Hi I picked up one of these today. I was very skeptical about it at first, but I have quite a bit of experience with twin engine thrust vectoring flight pushers, and all I have to say is:

WOW O WOW OMG AWESOME PLANE !

I may go back and buy a second one. It flies super nice and handles way better than any airhog I have ever flown for sure !
Not only is it scale accurate in design, but it is FAST !!!! (28 mph is no joke ! ). Turns great, has trim adjustmetns so you can fly almost with just one stick in a nice circle if you want and it lands nicely in the grass that I was flying around in, and turns really well without any climb or dive with throttle needed unlike a few other micro planes I fly often.

THIS ONE IS A KEEPER FOR SURE !

EDIT To add to ferndale's reply:
The launch method I found is to do a straight hand push witht he front landing gear on the tip of your fingers extended out straight, and the rear wheels resting on the back of your hand near your wrist. Push it out and up at about 30 degrees as if you are throwing a "Knuckleball" with a kung-fu style flat hand jab at the air, and hammer the throttle.

The turning works best with letting off the throttle from FULL speed just a bit and using a "Pulse" method if you want a sweeping scale accurate turn, or just throw hard left to get it to sharply turn and dive with a little less throttle, or climb and turn by re-adding full throttle at the middle and end of the pulsed turn. I have yet to launch it by ROG, but I will try this tomorrow as the wind kicked up tonight when I went back out to try a third flight, but was thwarted

this was an original design pic of it with the motors mounted up on the tails:

I just left a review of it on the RADIOSHACK website.

Tonight I hit flight # 20 with it and it a fairly good 10 mph gusty wind night too !

I got back into RC planes and cars this summer, and have bought quite a few inexpensive planes. I have to say that this one is amazingly fun and stress free to fly! It handles crashes like a champ, takes off and lands on pavement superbly, and has great control in the air with really good turning and flight times. I also collect Transformer toys, and have to say this beats them all for play-ability factor. Seriously a great plane! I have over 20 flights on it, and no signs of it wearing out anytime soon.
