I just ordered a Curtis muscle pipe for one of my Fury's with a Y.S.80 and a guy at Heli Proz told me they were having trouble with the cases cracking from the pipe being bolted down tight. Does any one know how wide spread this is and does anyone know of a fix. I don't want to trash an engine. Tim.

I have one on my Fury, and have had no problems so far.

I have 7 YSs, 61ST2s (2), 80s (3), 91s (2) and none have ever cracked a case other than in a crash. If you have a one piece muffler that is in an excessively vibrating model, I could see where it might be a problem.

The case cracking in YS. 80's and 91's is very real. That's the bad news.

The good news is that it seems limited to guys running 8.45-1 or higher, who don't balance anything and are 3d'ing the snot out of their heli's.

The cases are cracking in different spots and do not seem
related to the MP2 (Engines with Hatoris are cracking too).

If you do have a crack they are covered by warranty and YSP wants to see the engine immediately (if bought through them).

Jason Krause told me at the Corpus Christi FF that he personally has cracked a case. If I remember correctly he said it didn't matter whether your running a 2-piece muffler or the MP2. So, it is an issue and if you have a problem then YSP will want to know about it as they have mentioned.

hopefully my 3D isn't wild enough to cause this. I thought it was a mounting of the muscle pipe problem so now i at least know it isn't. Thank's Peyton. Tim.
