ILoveMinis -> *OFFICIAL* aerotech 50cc YAK-54 Thread (6/19/2007 4:59:25 AM)

I never really found any forums on this.

me and my brother are great flyers (were both teens)
and of course our dad supports us with our larger models.

well he was the one that decided we were ready for giant scale.

we thought the best/inexpensive way to go would be a 50cc 'er

At the last Tucson shootout.
we stopped by the aeroWORKS booth and notcied there beautiful QB aircraft.

months later when our dad was ordering our yak.

he decided to go with the aeroTECH because it had a great package deal with the DA 50 engine.

the wings didnt have a great fit. and the canopy all so came cracked, the base also lobsided.

they gave me the so caled "honor" of the maiden [:)] and it turned out great!

the plane flys like a dream and a typical yak.
the motor pulls awesome vertical.

my brother has since been able to hover about 30 seconds about 10' feet off the ground.

the first flight deadsticked but i landed safely.

let me know what you guys think and any questions you have

(its not letting me upload pictures [:@] )

I had the same problem of the canopy base not fitting well with the fuse. But it is a prety good flying plane.

if i can ill get some pics of my brother flying.
he does an outstanding job.

yesterday we went to the park and there was some baseball team practicing.
and they all stopped and turned when he walled and hovered a few feet, walked over and touched it.

and of course like any spectator. they get bored within ten minuetes and leave lol
