Bob,

I've been reading the threads on the 2.4GHz Spread Spectrum receivers. Being a PhD in EE, I've come to the conclusion that maybe some of the reported "lock-outs", "glitches" and etc., may be attributed to the fact that these new Rx's go into a low voltage state, due to high servo load, and hence, reset themselves. Unlike an analog Rx, which will reacquire once power is reapplied, the microprocessor based Rx's used in the new SS Rx's need to "re-bind".

Similar to what Spectrum's (DX6) receiver fix, an external 100uF cap plugged into an unused servo output, I was thinking about an external cap. The question, how much capacitance can I use and still remain stable with the expander's 5v regulator to the Rx?

Greg.

Hi Greg,
The regulator for the receiver is a linear regulator. It should not matter how much capacitance you put on it. It has a 22uF cap on its output. The part is a Micrel MIC39100-5.0.
