Hello fellas, new Bearcat owner here.

I am looking for some advice on the newer style kit that has the pull-pull set ups for the rudder and elevator.  I was wondering if this set-up for the elevators is worth using?  These come with a metal rod that connects both elevators and a pull-pull horn in the center. Mocking everything up it looks like that is alot of tail feathers for one servo to control.  Does anyone here have experience with this set up?  Any recommendations on the suggested build or should I dedicate one servo to each elevator?

 Thanks, Joe

hello everyone,

it's time to blow some fresh air  into this topic ...

i bought this week the ESM (KMP) F8F + the new DLE-35RA
since the engine has an rear outlet exhaust AND i can't use the standard muffler that comes with the engine (because is way to noisy, not allowed, max 80db) , i'm looking for a solution.....

anyone already used a muffler (ks, krumscheid,....) with a gas engine, cowl-in or in the fuselage?
any idea's?

looking forward to hear from you all,

@ Joe Black, how it's going.....?i have just bought the set, so i need to start , so im' not on to it on this moment......sorry

regards
juweeltje

I've always like the ESM F8F Bearcat but the videos I've seen looks like the wing loading is very high and it's really heavy coming down. Somebody give me some positive feedback on landing this plane as I'd still like to get one.

I have been flying mine since it first was released by KMP back in 2007 , I got the all composite version weighting 20.5 lbs. It seems to be heavy but compared to lighter planes I fly it is the one I enjoy the most, actually I'd rather have my warbirds on the heavy side, just feel better. I think I got way over 100 flights with couple accidents between, it is powered by an OS300 twin, Sierra retractable gear, scale home made retractable tail wheel with shock absorber, full cockpit with the same pilot as Pasc (est ce que vrote nom est Pascal? Je suis Francais (Breton) et vie aux Etats Unis depuis 1992). Perhaps ESM will release a 80" or so version, will love to have one to blast around!
Great job on your Bearcat Pasc.... If get a chance to drop by Denver bring the Bearcat with you!

Zippi by the way, I fly at mile high my Bearcat at 20.5 lbs land better than any other warbirds I have. The flaps at landing are a must, a good landing will be done in less than 300 feet usually from a 3 point landing ( I love those). Like the full scale put the biggest engine that can fit in the cowl, my OS300 twin is just under 50cc and not as powerful as some smaller2 strokes but I got plenty of torque and like the prop size it turns (20X8-14).

Elite Force North American F86 Sabre 1/6 scale pilot Col. Walker "Bud" Mahurin, it was produced by BBI. You might find one on Ebay, occasionally I see one on RCU.

In my case I removed the body and made a foam one instead, if I recall it is around 2 or 3oz.

Thanks for the info. Nice looking plane. What brand for a good set of electric retracts?

Zippy, I've heard that the latest version of ESM, version 3  would be a great improvement..... http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11060280/anchors_11323317/mpage_5/key_/anchor/tm.htm#11323317

I can'
t buy them yet here in Europe, but when the time comes, I'll probably buy them.
If they are less good than expected  (I folow the experiences on the topic above) , than I'll buy the lado retracts ....www.lado-tech.net/en/

from 1/2 January they would be available here in Europe......

They are already available here. I've been looking at them. Looks like the speed is the only thing that changed from VII.
