Hi,

I was recently given an offer to repair helicopters in a local hobby shop. Nothing has yet been discussed.

I would like to know from someone who worked in a similiar position, how fullfilling the job is?

I love helicopters but would like to know if i make this my work, will i get to hate helicopters for the rest of my life? I do not want to risk my liking for the hobby to turn into something negative.

Secondly, what can one expect to get paid, the person mostly deal in raptors and has many clients.

Would i have to build and setup the radio and all, or just build the heli and leave the rest to the client?

Any information, advise or help would be very appreciated. Information is so hard to find on these topics, i would just more or less like to know what i can expect out of this job? Is it worth quiting a dayjob over this or is it mainly for the guy who's doing it for the love of it not really the momey?

Thank you

Pete

my advice would be not to mix your hobby and your job.i have managed 2 model shops and it really takes the edge out of the enjoyment of modelling.

BigHap thanks, that's what i wanted to hear, i do not want to lose tthe quality flying time and what flying means to me for that position. It's easy to just want to take on the offer, for you'll be spending all your time with what you enjoy doing so much, but now do it from 8-5 (probably not flying much anyway), including on weekends, i suppose you'll never look at rc the same way after that??

Now why does the rules of work, work this way.....[:D]

Anyway Thanks

Pete

like i always say do what you love and you will never work a day in your life. i heard that saying one time and it has stuck with me. so now i am doing what i enjoy doing so it never feels like work to me. if i had that chance to work at a hobby shop i would be on it like stink on poo! i hope that things work out in a way that is good for you. good luck!
