The thing is I don't understand who they are trying to sell to.. for the hardcore RC fans -> they'd want to build the kit themselves, put in the bearings, paint the shell the way they want... for the average RC fans -> I don't know if anyone is gonna drop $1,200 on that..

So we will see how successful these "RTRs" will be!

exactly what i was thinking LB, the hardcore fans spend the cash because its such a great (big) build, hopefully these RTR's will die a death.

I hope that if the RTRs die off the actual RCs dont die with it meaning if Tamiya stops the semi RTR they dont kill the kits period

surely most of Tamiya's business is kit building? static ones such as: boats, aircraft, cars, and obviously RC's.. i doubt the failure of expensive RTR's would affect Tamiya much.

probably best to take this discussion to the Lounge now.

Nope, that's not a F103GT if that's what you were asking... more like an older version of the M-chassis?! Not sure.. ha! Need to bust out the old catalog..

The B4 is a really bad example, since most of it is based on previous Tamiya engineering from 10 years ago.

Yup, this car was introduced by Tamiya in 1992.
Complete with FRP chassis, slipper clutch, CVDs and aluminum shocks.

Obviously this car looks so much better than a B4 if you can find it. It's pretty rare nowadays.
Who would have ever thought Associated would copy tamiya
