I see ads for a dual battery adaptor for the MRC 960 Charger, to charge 2 batteries at once. Does this work and is it safe. Thanks

I haven't seen this yet. Can you post a link so I can see what it is?

If you use the parallel adapter and have two packs of the same capacity and the same state of discharge, then yes. However, it is going to take twice as long to charge the packs this way. You might as well charge them separately, it will take about the same amount of time, and it's safer. Also, this is not the best way to do things. Every battery is different, even every cell in each battery pack is different. They will have different rates at which they charge, discharge, internal resistance, peak voltage, etc... So one pack might be fully charged while one isn't and you risk overcharging the faster charging pack. Doing this once or twice, no big deal, but doing this continuously you will lose some of the lifespan of the battery. If you want to charge two packs at once, either buy two chargers or a dual output charger like the 977. You can charge two batteries at 5 amps at the same time with the 977. I hope this helps.
