Anyone running the ZDZ 80 Twin the their H-9 1/3 Cap? How do you like it?

Also, I have the 1/4 Cap Chapman scheme and am not terribly impressed witht the covering job because the blue and teal are ironed over top the white; I have many small air bubbles between the white base and the trim colors.

My question is, does the 1/3 Cap have the same problem, or are the wings sheeted with balsa over the ribs so that each color can be ironed directly onto the balsa, not directly on top of the base white?

Thanks!

Hope this doesn't sound too stupid, but when you say 80 Twin, do you mean a 160? i.e. 2 80cc's?

If so, there is a guy at our club with one in his Sukhoi. It's WAY overpowered, but when is that a problem? The motor seemed like it fit pretty easy. He had some problems with it starting one day. Had spark and gas and would pop, but not run. The next weekend, it was fine. I'm not sure what it was, but he didn't make it seem like it was a big deal either way.

I think youd be just and happier with the zdz80 single. Cheaper, lighter, and available.

The single does not shake much at idle at all.

Time the prop like the instructions say to and its not much worse than a twin..

I have the single does not shake much at all, unless your firewall/box is flexing.
I have a Lanier Laser 200 1/3 scale that shook like made the first time i started it. I then put a cross-braise in the motor box and the shake went away .
very smooth running engine.

Put the piston at TDC, then put the prop on in line with the cylinder.

just what i'm getting sorted. the twin is quoted as being the same weight as the single, but its the two exhausts and headers that add the weight. maybe a 2 into 1 would be an idea. the twin is slightly down on HP over the single. looks a lot better seeing jugs through the front inlets instead of space though. i have had to put both servo batteries and both receiver batteries just behind the canopy to get the CG in the recomended area. speaking of canopies, they should make them out of glass cos it would be stronger than the junk they use now. i damaged mine picking it up, and the replacements have twice arrived cracked. should i ever get a useable canopy, i'll be able to see how it flies. as to the covering, its ok. the blue and red seems to be on top of the white only in the places where there is no balsa under the white, ie, fuz sides and bottom.
