Thanks, I remember getting this plane on a barter new. I took it out of the box and I almost threw up on the original covering job. I did the scheme to mimic my Flat foamie. It was really easy to do but the Day glo monokote was pretty expensive. Mike

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. A wise friend of mine says that you should always take the pictures of your plane when you 1st finish them and there brand new because they are never going to look that good for very long. My 44 years of experience has proven that correct. I'll keep it in the shade. Mike

These are very cool, I never liked working with monokote so to see this done that way is awesome. Also, to see that many American flags on airplanes I just think is awesome (I'm a Canadian totally in love with the USA)

Here are some American flags I've done on projects, some are combination USA/Canadian themes hope you like them
Jeremy

Here is a guitar that I built in tribute to the USA and 911, the headstock has the flag on it, I would put the picture of just the headstock on here, but it's really big and I'm on the wrong computer to resize it right now.
http://www.lgmguitars.com/ce-911.html

Here is the bottom of my Whiplash, it was the factory Can/Am scheme on the top, but I needed to do something to the bottom

Here is the nose of a dragster body that I painted, Canadian car that races a lot in the USA so they wanted support for both countries on the car. This picture is a little bad, there is much more shading and 3D look to it

And just something for that 3D flag look, thought you might dig this heli canopy

Great idea and very nice looking flag. I am looking to try this on my current project, a Direct Connection F-20. I think it would look neat on a jet type plane. I will be painting my model. I could use paint for the background and then monokote the grey, red, and blue. My question is: do you have some kind of formula you use so the blue looks proportional to the total wing or do you just wing it (no pun intended)? For example, for a 40 inch wing with a 10 inch chord (just throwing numbers out) the blue area should be 20% of the total wing area so the blue is at least 8 inches from the tip to the root by lets say 5 inches from the leading edge to the trailing edge. Just curious as to your wing span of your plane and the size of the blue area. I will post some pics when I get it done. Thanks.....

Usally I just W.A.G. it. on a wing only 10" wide I sould probably let the blue star book go from LE to TE and mabye about 2/3's of left wing panel....hope this helps....G

Gator, I read on another thread that someone added a small amount of "trim solvent" to their entire bottle of Windex, to further assist in adheration. Have you tried heard of this technique? What are your thoughts on this?
