Agreed, that looks great.

BTW, you're going to love how that looks in the air. My mid-star (posted earlier in this thread and in my gallery) has Old Glory on her and looks WAY COOL when making high banked turns, knife edges, and hammer heads. Although it took much more time than I thought, the end result is totally worth the effort. That, and there's never a clone at the field.

Heres one I tried. I thought I crabbed a roll of white ultracoat, but when I opened it I found out I had transparent white ultracoat. Was gonna go back and get reg white, but called first and trans white is all they had. So I pressed on anyway with it. The gray shadow is kinda lost in the open bays between the ribs. If you guys have never used the trans white, its real shear, it does cut nice, but it alos tried to stick to its self sorta like "solite", but you can pull this apart unlike solite.

the plane is a MORRIS THE KNIFE

I finished covering my SSE today and want to thank you guys for all of the inspiration! I used all Ultracote on mine and ironed every square inch with my TF trim seal tool...it took 11 hours to do the flag after I had the wing covered in white! Was it worth it? I think so! Next time, I think I will use Monokote and Windex/solvent, but I all ready had the Ultra, so I figured worst case I will just shoot myself after... Can't wait to get er' up in the air now!!! -Craig

Yeah, it's a "60" Hots. I ah,well, kinda overpowered it,sorta. (90 Super Tigre). You've heard the saying about the scalded dog? It's a lot of fun to fly. I built it last summer from plans. I thought it would be cheaper than finding a kit. Hah !!! It was a fairly easy build though. Termagator put together a great set of instructions for the 3D flag.. It's a LOT easier than it looks. Everybody should try it.

Soaring Steve....how did you do the edges of the covering? Im working on a scheme and wanted to try something similar, but not quite sure I could get the edges to come out as well as yours.

Thanks Joe
Well the first covering is a little bit of a stretch. I worked at an FBO that specialized in dope and fabric
about 20 years ago. In the 2 years I worked there, we recovered a pa-25 in grad A linen, 2 pa-18's and a j-3 with ceconite/ Piper process and a KCAB7 and a GCBC in Stits. I almost forgot my A&P class recovered a T craft in Stits and started a J-4 in Blue river .

This would be my first r/c kit and my first covering with Monokote. Yes there was a learning curve. I should thank every one hear on RCU for there help and advice.

Any kind of experience helps Right now I'm building a Guillows P-40 Warhawk (static model). At the part to cover with tissue and dope. I only did that once before but it came out good. Its a RC Wright Bros plane.
