Here is my attempt at this. Only problem I had was the trim solvent ate the edges of the monocote.

Has anyone tried the no-heat trim solvent from Sonic Tronics, or is this the same stuff as the MonKote trim solvent?

Allan

I used windex (well 409) on all of it but was trying the trim solvent on the edges.

Thanks,
Allan

Thanks. The rest of the plane is maroon and the moving surfaces are chrome. I am planning to put some sort of Mississippi State symbol on the top of the wing

I have used No Heat from LDS, maybe it's the same stuff you're referring to.

Anyway, it is NOT the same stuff as MonoKote trim solvent, although it works about the same for a lot of applications. The reason I know it's not the same stuff is I tried to follow Ann Marie's instructions for doing trim on the MonoKote site, and it didn't work. She says to let the trim solvent evaporate before you put the trim on. With MonoKote trim solvent, that works, because it leaves other chemicals on the surface. With No Heat, if you let it evaporate, it's gone, leaving nothing to stick the trim on.

But otherwise, it works fine, and I used it for years without realizing the difference.
