If you really want to build one and are not afraid of building from scratch, on the very first post there is a PDF of the design you could build one from.

It's kinda sad...
This plane is a real good design and has real potential. Combatpigg was able to break 200 mph with his Nelson powered one right off the bat, and the airframe is strong enough that I think it could even take much more. You really can't get a feel for it until you see it sitting in front of you just how sleek it is.
Here is a shot of the nose of my electric version.

Thanks Smoknrv4!
This is such a good design it can't be allowed to fade away.
Yes a laser cutter would be a nice addition for the shop, especially were I have already got CAD drawings...
I know at one time there was a small one going for around $2000 produced by craftsman but I haven't seen it around for some time now and a search didn't yield any results. The only other one that is even close to a price to be considered is the small Epilog system but still very pricey. At this point I'd settle for a 2'X4" CNC cutter that could be built for about $1200 not that fast but still pretty good accuracy.

Hey Chumley, Your not related to that ''Chumley'' on Pawn Stars on the history channel, are you?

I sold Mike D. this business some time back and I hate to see it in this state. He should modify the web site. I wish I had a kit to send you but I do not as it has been some time. I do have two almost new and built air frames I would part with but it would have to be a pick up. What a pain to ship even a small air frame if you are not set up to do so. I would think there would be a kit somewhere that someone would part with. Good luck.

No - no relation to the Pawn Stars guy, but I do like the show.

I was able to get my money back from PP and I by no means do I think Mike D. is trying to rip anyone off. Of all the deltas out there, I really would like to build a Screamin' Demon. Unfortunately Tulsa is a bit too far although I know of some folks nearby that we could possibly do a relay with to get it to me if nothing else pans out. I've scratch built planes before, so I will look at the .pdf - thanks for the suggestions.

Many years ago when I first discovered this forum there were a lot of Diamond Dust threads.
I wanted to build one, so it was a simple matter to find out the basic dimensions and I built my own.
Mine differed from the original with the way I built the engine mount and the center section to house the fuel tank and radio gear.....but at any rate it flew just fine.
The "airfoil" isn't critical, just keep it the same thickness as the original and you will be OK.
The original Diamond Dust airfoil with 4 flat sides did the job with the sag of the covering material forming the actual airfoil between the 2 ribs.

Thanks combatpigg. I've scratch built before and this looks simple. I will also be using an electric motor, so will need to custom build the engine, esc, and battery mounts. It looks like a fun project.

Also if you look back in this thread (somewhere in the firs quarter of it) Mike built an electric version as well using an out runner mounted up front.

So, im going to necropost this one. After reading a lot (not all though) of this thread, and seeing numerous references to PDF plans in the first post, i cannot for the life of me find any pdf link. Does anyone know where i can get a copy of these plans?

After seeing how simple the design is and how easy they are to build....I was glad that I never bought the kit and paid $80 for $10 worth of materials.

The laser cut precision is nice, but for a skilled builder like yourself, it's really not all that big of a deal.
Your version of it came out pretty nice...

It is not possible to indicate the exact location of the battery pack...there is no universal location that is best for all the different ways that the people who are building these planes will equip them.
The battery location is entirely the decision of the model's builder.
I chose a spot that gave the plane a correct CG for pitch stability and also a spot that gave the plane the correct lateral [side to side] CG.
I ended up putting a AA cell pack in the starboard wing panel just in front of the CG. I didn't bother with making a hatch for it either, the battery sits in a simple balsa sheeted compartment that is packed in foam.

Proven no, but a few good ideas have been posted earlier in this thread and others...
Evan-rcu has suggested that a NEU 1515-2.5D would be a good choice to try (look at the discussion we had about it on the thread Outlaw from extreme flight on the next to last the page). I am currently in the process of building a SD with a Ammo 28-56-3200 kv motor with a CC Ice 100 (dual heat sink) ESC powered by a 4500mah 4 cell, should be interesting if I can prop it right. The plane is highly modified for the electric power, here is the link to the build thread, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10976724/tm.htm
