Video
The first 15 seconds is my brothers attempt to get the launch on tape. I had to let him go after that.
New stock Thunder Tiger Pro 46 running just a tad rich. The prop is a cut down sport APC 8.75 x 8.
36 meg. You may want to right click and download first.
The faster runs appear to be close to 120 mph. The last fast pass at the seems to be the fastest. Ready for some serious power now.

Edit - Added a single high speed pass for dial up. 1.3 meg

For those having trouble viewing the video I put it on YouTube.

The Wave-O-Scope Doppler program was showing about 120 mph. Some crude timing showed a little faster. The wind was not strong but left to right did have a light head wind. I didn't expect 150+ with a Thunder Tiger but it was a lot faster then anything else at the field. This is the first TT that I have owned and at this point I would say it is a very good and strong engine for the money. I am sure a JettStream muffler would bring it to life.

Mike remember if you are going into a headwind you have to add that to your ground speed to come up with your airspeed. What I am saying is that your timed runs might be closer than you think. Also keep in mind your engine is still new and has a bit more time before it peaks out for performance. Oh yea a tuned pipe would help some say 10-15% more rpm I know in ducted fan units it make a big difference.

The airplane and engine are new and the best combination for max speed will take awhile to find. There are other things to test like trying to fold the wings which we have tried to do but couldn't Two carbon fiber spars probably wont let that happen. There were two dead sticks with one landing downwind into high weeds the first day with out damage. The one bad landing in the long video flipped the plane over and hit the rear of the elevon. There was no damage to the plane but it actually stripped two teeth off the servo gear. So far not even a hole in the covering. I now have the CG figured out and the engine is running great so flights have been uneventful. Testing both ends of the envelope have found no bad flight characteristics.

My prediction and hopes for speed
TT 46 with 8.75 x 8 is 120+ mph actual
TT 46 with 8.5 x 9 is 136 mph estimated
TT 46 with 8.25 x 10 is 151 mph estimated
TT 46 with 8.25 x 10 w/Jettstream is 165 mph estimated
Jett 60LX fire with 8.5 x 10 is 190+ estimated
OS 90 DF....Just kidding

I have a Dynamax 5.25 ducted fan, a OS 91DF, in flight remote mix and a JMP system II tuned tuned pipe; I wonder what you could get out of that.

I Built a six foot wing with dual carbon fiber spars I got it to flex a bit but not much...

Anyone else having trouble with the video? I had trouble myself right clicking and downloading but both let me just click them to view. The large one did take a little time to load.

I am uploading to YouTube now for those having trouble.. Should be done soon.

That's what I was thinking. With the huge success of the test flights this week I am in the process of putting a few kits together for some people that have requested one plus a few extras. Between the laser cutters, plan printers, carbon fiber tubes and wood it is a lot of stuff to get together. It is kind of a low profit hobby thing for me and I will try to sell full kits less hardware for $69.95. I still need a couple of weeks to get things together.

For those having trouble viewing the video I put it on YouTube.
