Lance and Randy kept 2 Avonds F-15s in the air. Lance ran a Titan, and Randy did his part to put Scott Harris's AMT 280 closer to the next service. Both aircraft used Elevons only.

HI all, just got back from Kentucky Carnival and was disappointed with the over all event, but won"t get into that.
What I will address is the selfish attitude of a group of Kentucky flyer's and family that have no respect for others. The group booked a block of rooms on the third floor of the Hampton Inn and left their three young children in the room above ours. Well Thursday night we got no sleep until late in the morning hours, I could live with that for one night but again on Saturday night it started again, running, jumping, making noise, they don't have Security at this Inn, just one female to manage a full Inn.
After several attempts to remedy the problem with the unsupervised children, we packed our bags and checked out at 2.30am and made the 12 hour trip home with no sleep. Thanks room 306.

Please do, it would be interesting to see if others share your sentiments. Results for future events can only be achieved by actively seeking the cause, which will hopefully lead to a correction. That is, "if there is a correction that needs to be made".

Did you by chance present these so called issues you have to Lewis in private before your lamb basting attempt here?

Hey Johnny, I thought you were coming?!?

I just got back from the event after a long 9 hour drive towing the trailer up and down the mountains of West "by God" Virginia - the 4-cylinder in the Vue had its tonge hanging out.

I did manage to get enough flying in to make the total 5-day trip worth while. I will say though that the full-scale activity (which was mainly unavoidable because the single-runway airport HAD to remain open - FAA rules) and the noon-time activites made it a bit of the challenge.

I think that Lewis worked his tail off and most of the issues were delt with. I'm going to provide him with some feedback via email and I think (hope) that some of them will be delt with from the get-go next year. I'll come back next year for another go, God and the weather willing...

Bob

i wanted to give a couple of thoughts on Kentucky Jets too. We drove 9 hours also from North Carolina. The first half of the day on Saturday was interupted every 10 minutes by some full scale aircraft. then the Noon time demo of a turbine powered glider was a joke. Everyone had to stand in the hot sun for 30 minutes to watch it.The jet pilots who paid entry fees came to fly. I heard several venders who were trying to sell products complane. We spectators came to see RC jets fly. We were going to bring 4 pilots and jets, but 2 had to cancel, so 2 of us jump in the car and road. The jet flying we did see was great. I really love the A-10 and my friend really like the BVM Phantom. We had planned on coming back on Sunday, but we had enough interuptions so we left and drove straight home getting back at 1:30 AM. My thanks to the pilots for the great flying and the vendors for some much needed supplys.

I know Pete to be an honest person and does not go around "lambasting people". Pete has an opinion the same as the rest of us. Something must have happened and we may never know now with your offensive attack on him.

I know Lewis has worked his A-- off to make this a successful event. From what I have heard, it has been a total success.
Congratulations Lewis and crew

Hi Bob,

Glad the Vue made it in one piece "again" I wanted and planned to attend KY Jets this year but unfortunately my business required for me to stay this week, Thank God I stayed otherwise I would've found nothing but a huge expensive mess ( all is good though ). I will try to go to Liberty Bell since I missed KY this year, we'll see.

I agree with Burt about Pete, I personally know him and I can't see him bashing anyone or anything for no reason.

Congrats on the event Lewis, sorry I missed it.

Just got back from a full weekend flying and will be posting pictures when we have recovered.
The weather was good, the flying was good, and there was PLENTY of opportunity for everyone to fly.
Because it was an open, full scale runway there were times when the announcer was rushing people into the air and then stopping flights while a full size airplane came in. But it was not a big deal. There was still plenty of free flying time every day. Most times they were encouraging people to fly.

And I can't see how the KY jets organizers can be held responsible for hotel room issues. I agree it must have been frustrating for the individual concerned, but there's only so much the organizers have control of.

The ONLY complaint I have (and, no, I didn't mention it to Louis) was that I came away with "Celene Dion poisoning". After three days of listening to Celene Dion repeated CONTINUOUSLY I never want to hear that wailing again. For Gawd's sake. please invest in another CD for next year. Maybe some Pink Floyd 3 days of continual Celene Dion is just too much for anyone to take

Thanks, Louis. Overall it was a good event to attend and the full-size runway definitely made the flying easier. It was great to see the scale models flying there.

I got to Kentucky on Tesday and visited the flying site to see if it was good as I have been hearing, and what I will say it was even better. I flew from Tuesday thru Sunday and loged many flights, burning 25 gallons of jet-A. The full scale landings were not much of a bother. I had a lot of fun at Kentucky Jets and defernitely would like to go back next year. Thanks to the General and his crew for a great event also thanks to John from AMT USA for helping to make my stay in Kentucky a rememberable one. Here are some pictures.

Thanks Joe
