Can anyone describe the typical running conditions at Billington sea, in Morton park Plymouth? I was curious about access, weeds or other hazards, swimmers, dogs and peope fishing?. Also, if you could let me know the directions to location with the best access.

I hope to get out running with you guys sometime soon.

Thanks,

McGraw

Good to see you again. To bad about the swimmers, fishing and the ranger. Oh well atleast got one good run in.Time for a little maintanace on the boats. Just not enough time between running this week.New servo in black jack, radiobox cover in the v hull. The prop on the bj was cracked and must have been seperating under load. Nice day anyway. Heres a couple of pick of you nitro-v. It ran very well.

Sorry to miss running with you guys. Family in town the past month and I have been a little tied up weekends.

What went down with the Ranger?

Also where were the swimmers and were they a problem. I see they have signs errected at the RI side of the pond stating that the swimming area is closed (since they tore down the amenities facility a few months ago).

The ranger was parked right at the entrance. Just sitting having his lunch break i guess. Just in the way of everyone pulling into the parking area. No problems with him, just inconciderate. Had to wait for a kid to finish fishing. Just wasted some time is all. The beach side is closed. The dumped huge bolders on the beach and took down the building.

Hi Guys,

Can you tell me how the running is these days at Kilvert St? I thought I read that it was all weeds and figured I would check before I take the 45 minute ride down there.

Thanks,

McGraw

Mark,

I do know where Beach pond is thanks to you guys. I have never run at either location but I am looking for places to run. I used to run up here in Canton, Mass years ago so I am going to scout that location out again this week. I think beach pond is about 1.5 hours from me but I may be willing to take a shot if Canton doesn't look so good.

Has anybody ese ever run in Canton? I can't remember what it is called but I recall the access being a bit tough but a good place to run.

Thanks

McGraw - I have run up there behind the hospital in Canton - http://imageevent.com/justaddwata/photoscantonmaboatingoct2006. Access was challenging but beautiful pond. Only ran there once as it was a hike (though somewhat central to a few of the guys running).

Beach pond was mobbed today with the heat - so much for a "no swimming" area - there must have been 200 people in the water.

Beach pond does offer some options but this time of year it can be busy with all the campers in town (fishing, skiing, kayaking, swimming, etc). Best bet is a cloudy day or a little rainy.

I will be getting my act together shortly. I again have a means to get my inflatable to the pond and might even have time to get a boat or two in the water once more .

Yup, That is where we used to run near the Hospital but we got kicked out a few times. I recall it was always better running in the fall when there are fewer people around.

I will try to make a Friday decison on where to run Saturday.
