tried to contact Kinderwelt to check shipping of an RC 251 halftrack and a Sig 33, but the site says they will only ship to Europe. I just sent them a VERY pointed email, in German, requesting clarification or if we need to present our rabies shot papers to order. Waiting for response.

Bill

Just wondering ..any reply or info????? Id do anything to get one........Thanks for any info!!!!!!!!!!

Hello stuff,I was wondering what scale that half-track is.And I'll assume it is a static model,is that correct.I would like to find a couple of 1/16 scale,or even 1/12 scale models to work on. BIGMIG

If you're thinking of getting a radio, go 2.4Ghz...

Still miffed that I bought my current airplane/heli radio just before the 2.4 stuff came out.

ya its the 21st century 1:18 scale. anyone know what kind of esc i need to get? i dont know if i really want to make the front wheels steer yet. not sure how well that would work with the tracks. thinking of just making it track steering and just not do any " super spins " with it.

Howdy Stuff,

Email me off line and I can send you a write-up I did as to how I did my RC Tamiya compatible combat ready conversion.

Also it should be noted that a white ring is to be added to the gun barrel for the kill achived during combat trials.

Its a MS word document and includes some pictures as well.

Regards

bullyhys

Ya,I was looking at that and wondering how it could be steered with the front wheels.?? 3/4 of it is tracks.I think it should be called a 3/4 track rather than a half track.Where did you get it if I may ask?? I would like to check them out. Looks like a fun challenge to make one work. BIGMIG

Bigmig,

I added some additional weight to the front in order to allow the front wheels more grip. Of course on slick floors it doesn't turn unless you use the tracks.

For track control I used a dual ESC..check out some of the other threads on the subject.

Bigmig,

I have not as yet been able to locate any in stores, however I have been able to get them(3 so far) off that ebay place.

I just did a search for 1:18 halftracks. One can usually locate some for under $40 with the shipping.

Hope this helps

just checking the Academy Panther, anticipating doing a conversion and note that this is a wire controlled model, not RC. Anyone know how to make an RC from a wire controlled vehicle to get rid of the trailing wires?

Finally got word on shipping to USA on the 251 halftrack and SIG 33. Shipping 1 item 32 Euro, 2 items 42. Michael will ship to the USA. His ad was geared toward Germany as that's where most of his inquiries come from.
If anyone needs translation to German, I'd be happy to help.

Bill
